What a great out of the way place, yumm pies at shop. Short walk through low tide and over the sadle to lovelly new chums Beach. A must do :)

Whangapoua Beach
My husband and I enjoy stopping for an ice block at Whangapoua and sitting at the picnic tables overlooking the beach. There is a great playground that children could spend hours at, the recycling station is great and the public toilets are modern and convenient. New Chums beach is a great walk, accessible from the end of Whangapoua beach - just make sure to plan around the tides :)

Whangapoua Beach
Subjectively the best beach in New Zealand. I go to Whangapoua every year and will continue into the foreseeable future. Beautiful place, New Chums beach a short walk away and lots more.

We loved this beach, the water and sand were just stunning! Make it a spot on your coromandel tour. (New Chums beach also worth the walk)

Its got to be one of the best in the world. And New Chum beach around the rocks is a worthwhile bush walk. Just stunning.

Been to two beaches at Whangapoua on our way to Whitianga from Corommandel town, Whangapoua beach and Opera Point reserve, both have the finest pure sand.Planning to bring our 2yo granddaughter for a holiday there
