Waihou Valley Horse Trek’n
You’re taken back in time. Trekking along the river bed with crystal clear water. Surrounded by beautiful native bush, fluttering fantails and only the sound of horses hooves on the river rocks. Highly recommend going on a trek with Waihou Valley Horse Trek’n you’ll want at least 4 hours. Will definitely be back!! Thanks Wyatt for an awesome experience.

We did the 4 hour trek.There was great communication from the start. Lovely quiet horses and well matched horses to the rider. Wyatt was conscious of making sure we were confident and safe when riding and was always checking in with us on that aspect.Would happily do the 8 hour trek next time around.

Incredible guided horse trek surrounded by stunning pristine native forest and an amazing river trekking experience. Very first time on a horse trek and loved every minute! From tranquil river trekking to exhilarating forest tracks and to finish, a cool dip in one of the many stunning swimming sites in the Waihou. Impressive, thank you Wyatt.

Smashed it. Lol. Newby for me. What a blast swinging thru the native, up the awa. Scared az but was a dream. Im 67, took my 5yr old moko who'd never been on a horse but had been pestering me for over a year to ride a horse. Fulfilled all her dreams. Be back 4 sure.

Trekking through this stunning valley was a truly fabulous experience. Our guide Wyatt was amazing. He was so knowledgable and kind, with a great sense of humour. Our horses and gear provided were totally fit for purpose of riding through NZ bush and rivers. Our ride was adjusted to suit our riding experience which made the ride even more enjoyable.Riding with Wyatt felt like riding with a life long friend. Arohanui Hilary and Greg

Ultimate experience and safe for beginners!!!!Yesterday we took 9 drug and alcohol clients from Whakaoranga Whanau Hub in Kaikohe for a trekking experience of a life time.3 of our clients have never ridden before and nothing but safe, exellence and fun!!! Even stopped for BBQ, swim and bombs at Forrest Pools!We found when whaiora touch base with nature, their guards are down therefore it opens them up for therapeutic interventions!5 Star! We will be back with more clients!!!
