Punga Cove Resort

Stayed here while walking the Queen Charlotte track. We were in the base camp accommodation, with a private room and shared facilities. Had a fantastic stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Great food - recommend the mussels. Huge thanks to the staff who picked up my lost sunglasses and returned them to Picton for me.

We stayed overnight in a bunk room with 2 people. Great location and the hot pools were relaxing.Only one toilet/shower in our building which was strange. Kitchen also only had a microwave. Luckily we brought our stove.Beds not very comfortable.$190 per night is way too much. We stayed at Tawa Cove the night before for slightly more for a much better experience.

I wish I could have chosen a lower score than one star! But the view was amazing, luckily that’s not under the control of the Punga Cove Resort!!I was one of a party of three who called in for lunch. One had gnocchi and two had pulled pork tacos. The pulled pork looked like it must have come from a can, it was soggy and tasteless, the tacos I can only assume were mixed up with the box they came in!! Grey and basically cardboard!The gnocchi was clearly out of a packet and again was awful! The guy repairing the pool should have used this whilst repairing the crack he was working on!The restaurant was filthy, the carpets had clearly not been vacuumed for some time and the tables were sticky! I would hate to guess what state the kitchen would have been in. The toilets were filthy and the window was covered by a huge web, the floor was dirty as were the sink and toilet.I can only assume this place gets custom due to a captive audience from the queen charlotte walk, other than that I doubt this business would survive. This is the type of place that gives a bad impression on the Marlborough Sounds…. An absolute disgrace to the Hospitality sector!! Never again!!

A group of us were doing the Queen's Charlotte track and we didn't want to camp for the night, so we walked in and enquired with the staff to see if we can stay here. They staff were lovely and put us in their backpackers lodge where we shared a room between 2 of us.The place offers great facilities, SUP and kayaks to use free of charge! We loved it here.The restaurant also cooked up a delicious meal.Such a great experience!

Punga Cove is the perfect stopover on the Queen Charlotte track with lux and basic accommodation. The single rooms were delightful and the amenities clean and functional. Bonus pool, and ice blocks from reception!

After six hours of walking our journey finished right at the doorstep of Reception and Briony was a fabulous face to the company to greet us. Can’t thank you enough and while there was a slight problem with our gear getting wet this was rectified as a learning for the staff member on the jetty. Thoroughly recommend this location and the restaurant provided an amazing meal to cap off the evening. The pulled pork tacos and potato gnocchi was very nice. We set off in rain the next day but not without the contentment of a very enjoyable stay with accommodating staff who showed a real sense of concern about our trip and well-being.Thanks again for making the stay so rewarding and working so hard to get things 110% for others.

Punga cove is a wonderful place to stay! There are lots of accommodation options, with beautiful grounds for all guests to explore. The hot tub and kayak access were particular favorites of mine! Great location with stunning views. What really set Punga Cove apart was the above and beyond customer service I received. It was so clear that they cared about my experience even as a young solo traveler staying in their cheapest room for just one night. Would highly recommend a visit!!!

Cruised in on our boat for some lunch and refreshments. Have been before a long time ago and was thinking it would be pricey…. We were pleasantly surprised. Delicious food and beverages very reasonable. Oliver the boat tender driver was awesome, very accommodating and friendly. A very nice experience in all ways. Thankyou. We will be back

Fabulous, rooms are basic but comfortable, staff were approachable, professional, and friendly. Location is stunning and the meals served in the restaurant are delicious. Punga is a unique place to stay.
