Hare’s Rest is absolutely perfect. What an exceptional piece of paradise Ali and Glyn have created.Ali and Glyn are the most amazing hosts - - going above and beyond all expectations with ensuring all dietary requirements were provided for, including two vegans!The grounds are stunning. Such a serene, green, tranquil space to wake up in.Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer. We will definitely be back and can not wait to try out the pizza oven! Highly highly recommend!

We can highly recommend Hares Rest. The lodge was just so gorgeous with its lovely fire and beautiful outlook and we were so spoilt with delicious breakfast supplies, home baking and even Easter eggs for the children. Alli and Glyn were amazing hosts and even took the children out on the farm buggy to feed the sheep. They definitely went above and beyond and made it such a special stay for us. We will definitely be back!

Wow what a fabulous and tranquil place. My sister and I stayed here Waitangi Weekend, sadly just for one night as that's all we could get. Wished we had longer. Alli and Glyn are lovely hosts from the moment you get greeted by them and their super friendly dog, to all the special personal touches they do to make your stay more welcoming and special and even to the farewell goodbye. The lodge itself and The Walnut are gorgeous. Quality furnishings. It really is a place to go and unwind but still only 15mins to taupo town centre. The breakfast items provided and the home made bread are delicious. The grounds are lovely and it's so neat they even provide gumboots if you want to take a walk through their enchanting gardens listening to the frogs, birds and meeting their 8 Henrietta's (chickens) who lay the free range eggs. Thankyou so much Alli and Glyn. Natalie and I will absolutely be returning next year for a longer stay :). Thanks for having us xx

So relaxing and peaceful. The Lodge is set in park-like grounds that are great to wander. Hosts Ali and Glyn go out of there way to make your stay the best. Home cooked bread, wonderful breakfast items, comfortable bed. such a lovely place to spend a few days. So close to Taupo shops hot pools and lake. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Hare's Rest, we've found our new favourite place to stay in Taupo. The hosts Alli & Glynn are so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The lodge and surrounds are beautiful, the property is off grid, peaceful and quiet but still an easy drive to town. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Thanks so much!

We loved our two-night stay at Hare's Rest. The property is stunning and despite the drizzly weather, we enjoyed walking to explore the pathways and admire the plantings and many, fun sculptures. The peace, quiet and seclusion was perfect for us after a couple of very busy holiday weeks with extended family. Our platter one night and salmon dinner the other were truly scrumptious - first class presentation too! Alli and Glyn are warm, welcoming hosts who also gave excellent suggestions on activities to enjoy in the area. Faciities are just as described, or better! Thank you both for hosting us - it would be nice to return when the sun is shining. Best wishes. :)

Our stay at the Lodge exceeded our expectations. The thoughtful and friendly hosts made us feel at home and everything was easy. The best part was there was no noise except for the birds chirpingThe room was great. The bed and pillows extremely comfortable and everything was all ready for us. We loved every minute of our stay.

We love staying at The Hares Rest. It truly is a magical spot. Alli and Glyn are really lovely people and great hosts and the accomodation has everything you need for a restful, tranquil stay. The homemade muesli and bread are delicious and our kids certainly loved the cookies. Highly recommend.

WONDERFUL host served delicious gourmet food including home made bread. Very comfortable bed and cottage. Off the grid ( have wifi) we soaked up the serenity of Hare's Rest a magical 5-Star experience.
