fairly large parking area but looks like its mostly for cars with boat trailers. It is resonably close to the ferry terminals for Half Moon Bay.

Don't park during the weekend at that place. Theh will you give you a parking fine and don't care that you even ask and make sure if it's allowed to park there. Auckland transport is just after the money from every tourist because it looks like they don't get enough money any other way.
