You can park there, overnight if self contained, and even cycle off from there to Omokoroa.

Great spot by the river. Would be better if there was a rubbish bin or two and the rocks in the middle of the carpark weren't there.

Very potholed muddy carpark with intimidating homeless living in their car and rubbish all about. Not impressed.

Quick overnight stop in this freedom camping spot which sits alongside a picturesque river on the outskirts of Tauranga. It does however sit pretty close to a main railway line, and on the night we stayed we had late night and early morning freight trains come through. Apart from those, it was a nice quite place to park up over night. Note there are no toilet facilities here.
