Balloon Hut
A medium sized backcountry hut. The hut is between 1 or 2 hours walk from Salisbury Lodge. Another hour or two will take you to the beautiful Lake Peel. In bad weather this route is very exposed. 30 minutes from the hut on the Salisbury side is Bishops Cave which is worth a look if you are walking past.

Amazing hut! Warm, cosy in a beautiful spot!You can reach Lake peel in 1 hour, cobb reservoir view in 1 ½ hours.Beautiful and peacful!

Balloon Hut
Some eggs the stoat trappers left in the hut were much appreciated as food supplies were running low. Plan to return and appreciate the stove which was not yet fitted at the time!
