Huge place awesome for freedom camping. Has fire pits, fire stoves and flushing toilets! The drive there is a fair distance down some narrow roads but scenic all the same.Right next to a river with some deep pools for swimming and surrounded by heaps of awesome walking and mountain biking tracks.

Beautiful spot, flat camping area with lots of space. Caping not very private and ammenities need a bit of attention. Make sure you have all your supplies before arriving as nearest shop/gas station is quite far away. Will definitely return.

Lovely camping spot. The road in is a bit scary if you are coming in after rain as it is prone to slips. Lovely spaceous camping grounds with fire pits, picnic tables and BBQs. Closer to the river which has some great swimming spots. Remember to bring your own toilet paper and plenty of insect repellent ;)

Ever wondered what was past the middle of nowhere?The Ruatiti Domain and the drive to it is very picturesque with lots for the eyes to soak in.Driving too follows the Mananui o te Ao river with a few single carriageway pullovers and views down to this mighty river.The domain is enormous with lots of camping areas, long drop toilets and hot-fire/BBQs. There is no cell phone reception.Since discovered, I have been a couple of times, and you may be lucky enough to see some Blue Ducks or other wildlife.

I'm so glad we found this spot it was beautiful, clean, fresh and no reception. Totally off grid so you can really unwind. there were only 2 other campers at the top camp ground so we had the place to ourselves. My son could ride his bike play with his dump trucks and we could really unwind.

This place is gorgeous for a peaceful night away camping. There are plenty of places to set up a tent and camper vans and caravans have easy access. Water is availabke at several points and there are long drop and flush toilets. The river was clear the area clean. Will be heading back again.

Lovely little place. A bit far off the main road but a large area multiple places. Flushing toilet which is a fine addition. Lots of bird and a nice river. Custodian came around in the evening to keep an eye on everything and was friendly. Has rain water available didn’t use as only there for one night.
