Lovely little iSite with an overwhelming discovery centre attached!There was a super nice lady who noticed us flicking through leaflets outside after the opening hours, and she opened the door, welcomed us in and showed us the awesome cave crawl. She took extra time to play with the kids and put little helmets on, and gave us all sorts of useful info about nearby walks.The discovery centre has some incredible displays with moa skeletons, geological info and interactives, and I could go on…Overall, it’s absolutely well worth the little stop into the iSite.

The staff were super lovely and helpful! When I came in fresh off the bus with my huge backpack, they were kind enough to let me keep my bag behind the desk whilst I had a look round the museum, and pointed me in the right direction of my hostel. I would highly recommend coming in and especially watching the 15 min film of the cave expedition.

Waitomo Caves isite Visitor Information Centre
Just stopped in, ended up having some time on our hands. We went through the museum, it was very fun and informative. They even have a kid friendly item where you can crawl through a tight cave like the early cave explorers did. Will say that it isn't for the faint of heart or broad shouldered.
