Definitely a point to take 3-4 min break from long drive. Capture few shots and drive further.

You get a scenic view of the Wakatipu Lake surrounded by the various mountains, however the Devils staircase was missing. Good spot for a 5 min break between towns.

The views are spectacular. If I have any complaint about NZ roads it they need more turnouts like this. I enjoy the opportunity to see this magnificent scenery. A beautiful lake with outstanding mountains. We were lucky to have them dusted with snow.

Great pull in for a view!Bare in mind, it's not easy to spot if you're driving from Queenstown as there is no sign and its right on the bend so be careful. But if you're coming from there other wat towards Queenstown there is a brown 'Lookout' sign.

Much beautiful than what you could imagine! You got firstly surprised for this weird name, but you understand the reason when you see there yourself! Really pretty, exciting and worth taking many photos to record the moment. Highly recommended!

Devil's Staircase Lookout Point
Step on the boulders, and you can have great photos taken of you or a better vantage point. Depending on the weather and sun, you can get great photos of the mountains and lake.

Great spot to have a little break about midway between settlements. Easy parking, so not much of a bother, but you get a nice expansive view of the lake down to Kingston. Would stop off here again!

Stopped there late in the afternoon, the view was still amazing even with the sunsetting behind the mountains.

Great place to see lake Tekapo. Pretty easy to park thankfully. Luckily it was an awesome day and got amazing photos. It’s so cool how much of New Zealand you can see for free and it’s spectacular!
