Piroa Falls
Calming scenic waterfall. A short walk from the road . Right under the waterfall a natural pool allows for safe bathing and swimming. A relaxing place for a family gathering . Enjoyed it !!

(Pics from summer 2014): a very pleasant experience at this waterfall. The hike to it isn't bad, but you'll likely get wet eventually. Not too far from the car park. Nice cold water to enjoy on a warm summers' day!!

Quick little stop to see the falls. Trail was easily accessible and well marked. A little scramble at the end to see the falls but nothing to hard

The road out was a bit dusty. Track down wasn't bad. Nice falls.

Awesome place if you are looking for waterfall. Its just a short walk from the carpark, although track can get abit muddy when it rains. Carpark is quite limited so park considerately.

We drove from.up north into 6 km of gravel road. The gravel road was just dusty. Thankfully, it was not muddy. You will pass four bridges along the way when you arrive at a road side car park. The track goes down with man made steps to the waterfall. It can take like 10 minutes to get there. When we went there was lots of people swimming and jumping off the Clift. The waterfall itself is beautiful and elegant. There is like a pool in front of the waterfall where you would swim there is also a picnic table for your use. We went to many waterfalls and we would say this is unique on its own merit. You will definitely enjoy this waterfall and short walk. Returning back is all up, but easy. If you are traveling south, continue on the gravel road to the highway which connects to state highway 1 soon. It is about another 6 km of gravel road. The road is ok but few places the gravel road is like corrugated which may make your car shake. But all good.

Short walk to the waterfall. Waipu reserve is quite remote and you will have to travel through a gravel road for 5 to 6 kilometres to reach there. No toilet facilities available there. The waterfall is small, but good for spending time with family and for a quick short walk. A calm and quiet place. Beware of the slippery rocks.

Wonderful short bush track to a Gem at the end. The walk is reasonably short & includes stairs ..the sound of running water & the smell of NZ bush
