We travelled across the thermal explorer highway and stayed in the region.Hot n Cold was an amazing natural hot spring.I highly recommend checking this place and I am recommending it to friends. The river is nice and warm and mixes with a cold river nearby, making it amazing with natural hot pools nearby.

A beautiful place, well worth the visit, please respect this world treasure and not leave any rubbish or waste items. It's an absolute jewel of a place. Let's keep it that way. Parking is limited but it's a short walk from the main Waiotapu carpark which is also well worth a visit.

It’s fun to see the water hot on one side and cold on the other, and I dangled my feet in the warm side, where a local guy was having a soak/swim, which looked fun. But the banks were quite dirty - there was some broken glass/rubbish and a pair of underpants and a dirty towel etc. so I didn’t feel like going all the way in.There are a couple of laybys to park on but be careful as the road is damaged and there’s a bit of a ledge - we got stuck trying to get back out and were very lucky the swimmer got out and came to help us.

Beautiful spot but the signs are rather off putting... Did happen to see two naked foreigners making out slightly up stream on the hot river...

Nice Spot! Not so crowded. Seems like a „go-to-spot“ for the locals, liked that a lot!

Amazing FREE spot in Waiotapu thermal area. You can park the car after/before the bridge and soak yourself in this Kate Perry kind of river(s). It’s thoroughly enjoyable to move from hot to cold and vice versa. There is a sign saying to not put head underwater due to bacterias.

Well worth a visit. It's a natural feature so get into your togs before you head here, and while it felt safe always leave valuables at home to remove risk. So nice to be able to move into hotter and cooler parts of the rivers to warm up and cool down. Took two reluctant teenagers and had to drag them out after an hour and a half. Remember this is natural thermal water so keep your head above the water so you don't get sick.

One of the rivers is nice and warm. Waist hight. Relax and sit in it. This river flows I to another one which is perpendicular to it. This is one is lukewarm shallow and flows quite fast so hold onto your small kids. When dug my toes into the sand about 19 cm I quick pulled my foot out lest I get burnt.Smear the mud all over yourselves!Apart from the great mineral absorption the next best thing is that the place is free to visit.

Great way to relax even on a hot day like today. Careful the ground was hot too. Found a place where the two rivers merged so I had the best of both world. Don't get your head/ears wet due to the thermal.
