SUPERB!!!! Arrived late into town and there weren’t many options open late. PON’s was one of the few and we decided to try it. Didn’t have high expectations since a chef in the wine country told us he had never found decent Thai food in NZ. Well, Mr. Wine Country Chef, you have not had Thai in Hokatika. While my palette may not be as sophisticated as a chef’s, I’ve been to Thailand and I know what legit Thai tastes like. The vegetables were not only obviously fresh, they were perfectly cooked, which is my main thing. We had pad see ew with chicken (medium spicy), stir fry vegetables (no spice), and tom yum soup with chicken (spicy). We seriously considered spending an extra day in town just to eat here again. Well done PON’s!!!

Can definitely recommend it!Tastes great, fresh vegetables and one portion fills almost two people. The owner and the cook were also very friendly.

As a small and upcoming business I think they are doing their best and I would appreciate their efforts. Food is simple and unpretentious. I got the Lemon Noodles. The portion size was great. Flavor was decent. My friends tried some of the curry options as well. It is probably not the best Thai food you may have ever tasted, but its still good, freshly made and simple. Probably have to improve a little bit on the flavors to hit the bull's eye and become Hokitika's best kept secret. There is potential. And maybe a choice of a different location may help as it is a bit out of the center of the town and the first impression, from a far, maybe off putting for some (as it did for few of my friends who ended up not ordering). Also need to add to think of different options for the takeaway packaging. With the box that they provide, it is quite challenging to carry it to a place where you can sit when the food is steaming hot. Maybe if we we can carry it better it will help as well.Overall give them a chance and I am sure you won't be disappointed.

We highly recommend to stop and enjoy the food. It was tasty, fresh and a good portion. The owners are really nice and take their time for a good conversation :)We were happy that we tasted the meals :)You have a lot of choices so go ahead and enjoy.
