Hutt City Council

My son and I were discriminated and refused to continue the swimming lessons. Both healthy, and following all the precautions. This was never about health and safety. Moved my son to Upper Hutt.

Rang the council about a leaky water toby outside our house on the 18th november, today 7th december still not fixed classed as not urgent, so i fixed it myself. And they tell us to fix any leaky tap washers the home owner has.

If I could have given 0 stars I would have, this has truly been the worst experience I have ever had with a service provider. We reported a water main leak almost a month ago and have had nothing done about it, our front lawn is completely flooded and we were promised that someone would be coming to fix the leak before the week end.guess what nobody came, I called Hutt City council once every week and spoke with friendly and helpful office staff both during and after hours but this still hasn't got anybody out sooner.I have now suggested that we pay someone else as in a 3rd party contractor to fix the leak as the situation is dire, good to know our rates are being put to good use.....RIP my lawn

There are good staff but they are definitely a tiny minority! Some staff do not even have the courtesy to reply despite the fact that you've expended much time and effort to edit for best residential results when they send proposals for you to consider. One cannot blindly agree when some inexperienced (or just naive about actual street / traffic conditions) staff sends an unworkable street-plan to you.I love the way you've refurbished and landscaped, and the free events you've hosted but staff excellence and sometimes commonsense is a rarity at HCC despite the huge rates that folks pay. There was however one staff, a young, amiable & diligent planner (if he is still there) who bucked the trend; he was superb technically, digitally and customer service-wise.HCC grounds are sometimes used to host community events, eg. 2018 Light Festival, where throngs of kids and their parents were kept amused for hours by the antics of a bewitching, giant-bubble, Pied Piper Blower from Hamlyn not.

Its been 2 week my red bin rubbish hasn’t been collected. I have lodged online complaint as well I called them. Every they tell me to put bin outside on kerb but no one collect it.On their official website its shown that polystyrene packaging is to be put in red bin but then also rubbish collector leaves that even it is in rubbish bag & bin is not overflowing its latch is closed. Rubbish council.

I would like to say how impressed I was with the treat of being able to attend the Wellington Symphony Orchestra Free Concert at the Walter Nash Stadium a couple of Friday's ago. My 7 year old grandson also really enjoyed it too. How lucky we are to have such talent right on our doorstep. Thank you to the Council for organising this. We look forward to attending again next year.

Quick to raise rates and demand payment on time, and yet fails to provide services. Follow up by council due to construction work messed up road, rubbish bins not being collected, despite putting them out on time as per bag collection. Also the staff at HCC could be more friendly, as only going in to pay rate but it appears to be inconvenience to them. I'd give it minus 5 stars but only can give 1. SINCE WE CAMBLE BEEN IN, ITS BEEN POOR SERVICE DELIVERY!!

Took over a month to register my dog who relocated from Auckland. Had visited the council 8 times, made over a dozen phone calls with nothing but misinformed advise and council staff not wanting to help. Ended up getting the Auckland council to help me deal with the grumpy and unhelpful staff at the hutt city council

Incompetence written all over them. Parking machines EFTPOS payment frequently malfunctions and motorists are ticketed for a problem that should NEVER be allowed to happen in the first place. Phone number to report issues is not an 0800 number and you're put on hold meaning you'll be out of credit before you even get to speak with someone. If i was your boss Mr Barry you'd be fired with no formal disciplinary process prior. Dont deserve even ZERO stars
