Gordon Park Scenic Reserve
Lovely walk, peaceful and plenty of beautiful birds chirping away, beautiful trees. Lots of fantails. There was no sign to advise NO DOGS but clearly states it on the DOC website, would be good to get clarification as I saw 2 dogs on track but didn't think it was good in a reserve. Unfortunately there have been people tagging the seat and signs. Only 10 minutes out of Whanganui. Google maps will take you to the first entry on the road but drive a little further and there is a carpark, more ideal on a small country road. Well signed otherwise, good sturdy track.

Gordon Park Scenic Reserve
Nice short meandering tracks through dense stand of native trees and shrubs. Followed about by a curious Fantail. Saw and heard Tui. Some trees of obvious great age. Wheelchair friendly and all flat.

An absolute must visit, for all visitors to Wanganui; 1sq/mile native forest on the outskirts.Well maintained walkways make for an easy stroll with prams or wheelchairs.

Much smaller than I anticipated. Ran around once and was only 0.3km loop. Is a nice location, a bit dingy. Very family friendly as kids would be able to do

Great place for a short walk with the dog. Flat, easy loop path thru small bush. Picnic table near the carpark.Five minutes put of town

Gordon Park Scenic Reserve
A beautiful wee patch of bush with a short and easy loop track. A great place to take kids, complete with a Kiwi Guardians checkpoint, or to seek a quiet time out for yourself. Riroriro (grey warbler), piwakawaka (fantail), tauhou (silver eye) and tui are common, and I've also spotted korimako (bellbird), kotare (kingfisher), and Australian rosella.
