Great local museum all the displays are labelled in a viewer friendly manner well set out / displayed, with a different theme in each section. I was impressed by the level of restoration of every item, some of which I had never seen before.Jack is willing to have a friendly talk and is very welcoming.I would recomend this inexpensive museum to anyone.

FPOS wouldn't work, let us in for free. Moderately interesting, the lady working there a little too determined to bend our ear. The very tiny display of Maori artefacts only served to highlight the white settler" vibe."

Went there a few years ago. Great little museum. Learned a lot of New Zealand history. We try to go to a couple of museums each time we visit NZ

A true diamond in the rough! If you are passing through this is a very nice stop to visit a local museum with a remarkable collection of historic farming tools. It also shows the local history of local pioneer families and the development of the land and the flooding history of the Hukerenui swamp areas. All of the machinery is in working order and some can be operated. If you need a little break on the way through this is definitely worth a visit. There is a historic milking shed in working order which you can show your kids or bring back some own old memories.A museum set up and ongoing maintained by locals that volunteer to keep it open to the public. If you drop in on a Wednesday or Friday the pub across the parking lot is open with the flair or a rural pub with beers on tab, a pool table and locals that keep up the tradition of meeting in the pub to catch up on local business and news.

An absolutely amazing museum which not only has war artifacts and historical items, but includes local history and old hand tools. There is plenty of outdoor parking lot spaces and street parking around the museum that is free.
