The Gipsy Moth
Waiting for our flight we had the Philly Chicken Curry. Absolutely superb! Fruit tart and coffee also delicious. Great place to eat before flying out of AKL.

Pleasant staff, lovely cold Heineken and an iced coffee for $18.50 so not over the top pricing either. Cool music piped in the background provided a nice relaxed atmosphere to sit and have a pre flight drink

Disappointing and in my opinion overpriced. I ordered the Spiced Roast Cauliflower and I know grocery prices have gone up but I would have expected a larger quantity of food for $18.90. I left feeling hungry and unsatisfied. The total came to $50.40 for 2 lunches (cauliflower and beef nachos) and 2 soft drinks. If my calculations are correct the drinks (a ginger beer and soda water) came to $11.50. We ordered at the food counter and then had to queue at the bar (opposite site of room) to collect the soda water. The bench seats were absolutely filthy dirty and covered in stains. We won't be returning, the food tasted good and staff were friendly but it was a very disappointing experience. Sad to think this is the first New Zealand experience some visitors will have when they visit.

They were busy and kept me waiting at the counter for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. No worries. Then another 5 minutes later the team member arrived to take my order which I wasn't allowed because breakfast closed 13 minutes ago....then she walked away again...hhhmmm so I called her back and chose something else only for it to arrive cold and off. The fats had oxidized. When I explained to the waitress she replied and said I wasn't the only one to mention it! So they knew my food was off. Jeepers. Is this the best you can do?

Giving it one star because of the food which was decent. But definitely zero stars for the waitress. Had an attitude and when I already told the counter staff that my order was to go which wasn't captured, the same waitress took my food, put it in a box and just left it open on the counter not even passing it to me when she knew it was my order. So when I was at the counter expecting the staff to close the box and pass it to me with some culteries and napkins but that same waitress just said it was mine from afar. Terrible service.

Food was fine and came quickly, but the taste was nothing special. The staff were rude at the counter when I tried to get their attention and looked like they didn’t want to be there. They also apparently don’t serve iced drinks despite having ice, coffee, milk and a glass in clear sight. Not once did I see any tables be wiped, our table was sticky with left over beer. However, the place itself is nicely presented with comfy furniture, and it is frankly the only thing that will bring me back to this place.

Stop over for a quick lunch and coffee was quite good. Probably one of the better places compared to the others at the airport..
