Matauri Bay

No doubt the bay is awesome. However the amenities for visitors were terrible. You have to pay at the holiday park and use the resources. Sounds bit unfair for the traveler who would like to spend few hours at the bay.

Such an amazing place!! The bay is absolutely stunning and the view with the islands just off the coast is incredible! The sand is very bright, soft and clean and it's a good place to surf. The drive down the hill just before you reach the bay is very beautiful with the view down the bay and the coast from a birds point of view. Overall it's a place you don't wanna miss out on while being around Kerikeri and definitely worth spending the day :)Don't forget to pack plenty of water and beers since there is no tap or shop out there.And for those trying to hitchhike there, start early and don't leave too late, because if you don't manage to get a ride back u stuck there for good since it's a fair bit away from any town.Enjoy ;)

My most speical place to get away for few hours during my work in kerikeri I come down here to get away and enjoy the peace and beai views ever love it

What can I say get here! White sand and warm clean water this place is beautiful. Make your way down the hill toward the beach, to the left is the campground store and to the right is private and public beach access but follow the signs and you will find the public carpark.

Best place in the world with a million dollar view! A vast variety of delicious fish with a great diving experience just waiting for you!
