Te Awa River Trail
The Ngaruawahia to Te Rapa section of the ride is just brilliant. What an absolute pleasure to have this excellent long ride pathway available to us general public! My full praises to the people that built this and to those that made it happen in the first place!I stopped at the lovely picnic area on the Te Rapa end for a short break and counted around 50 cyclists in the time I was there. It's popular because its excellent!NOTE: While the path and scenery is excellent, toilet and water facilities are non-existent, CAUTION!

I was near the Te Awa River Trail but I did not do the trail but I am wanting to just seeing it from where I was is a lovely scenery

Te Awa River Trail
Rode Ngarawahia to Hamilton Gardens on 4 February 2023. There are no refreshments or toilets available on the trail until you get to Hamilton CBD where there's a drinking water tap & single toilet. I wished I'd known this as we could have carried an extra litre of water plus snack food on the bike. Beautiful scenery, very full river and one detour because of the excessive rain recently. Be aware that it takes a few days after the rain for the level to go down.

Thank you to the team who built and maintain this excellent trail. There has been some serious engineering that has gone into developing this site. Cycled from Ngaruawahia to Cambridge return
