Freedom Campers

So happy with the Freedom camper we hired for two weeks. Had everything we needed and beds were comfortable. Plenty of storage space too. Excellent price and customer service. Thanks Freedom Christchurch!

Excellent customer service! We came into trouble after ferry cancellation and Freedom let us split our hire. We loved cooking on the BBQ on warm summer nights. We highly recommend Tui and Freedom campers.

I've been on a few campervan trips before, and I have to say, they're a blast. Freedom was such good value, the campervan was perfect to go wherever you want, whenever you want, is unbeatable. You don't have to worry about finding a hotel or restaurant - everything you need is right there with you. It's definitely a unique experience that's worth trying at least once.

We have been renting one of Tui Camper's sleepervans for two weeks now, the best two weeks ever!The staff was so helpful and gave us a warm welcome once we arrived, quick to respond our questions via email or by phone. The sleepervan was a great size for the two of us, we did a lot of freedom camping and it was awesome!

Can not recommend this comapny at all. I rented a van from them, when I picked it up it was dirty, the curtains near the kitchen area greasy and sticky. There were so many things that were either broken or didnt work anymore, the list is endless. When I reported it to the company they said they would forward the information to the drop off place, there nobody new anything abou my email. I wrote them again that I am paying for a functional camper and am expecting some part of reimbursment, never heard back from them! Absolut rip off this company. One star is too many!

We had a very good experience with Freedom Campers. With more than 3,800 km in 2 weeks, the camper never gave us any problems. There's enough space inside for 2 people and it's quite clean. Also, the staff is very friendly and we appreciated the warm welcome in Auckland for the check in and the warm goodbye in Christchurch!

Disgusting experience. My partner and I rented a van there on 28th April 2023 and we agreed on a pick-up time of 09:00 am at the airport. However, the shuttle arrived for us at 10:00, one hour late. To make matters worse, the driver collided with another vehicle, leaving us stuck inside the van because the door was damaged in the crash. Although the van itself was okay, it could have been better.Towards the end of our trip, while driving on the road, a small rock hit the van's glass, causing a minor crack. We informed the company about this, and they claimed we had to pay $500 to replace the entire glass. However, when we researched other companies, we discovered that this information was completely false. In reality, we would have only had to pay $90 for the small crack.Our trip in New Zealand was amazing, but these people took advantage of our situation and ruined our happiness by wasting our money and time.

We rented a van to tour South Island- van was great way to get around. No problems except at initial pick up where we had to wait 2 hours. Not fault of staff - the vehicle needed a service. Our pick up was 3 March. Also we ended up with 6 berth rather than 4 berth. Turned out well -we had more room. Very good at drop off.

It was the worst experience ever. Bad attitude, poor level of service, slow.. etc. They are looking for ways to screw you over anytime they get a chance. Take photos of the vehicle!! They will blame you for what was there already (even though I had full coverage insurance). I had to show that I took video around the vehicle to make the lady back off. Then she tells me she is going to charge $200 for not sweeping the floor.. finally the manager had to step in to calm her down. Once I told her I am going to start recording and she pretended to be polite for a moment but her temper was back in no time. You need to deal with the manager to get anything fixed around here.

Rented a camper for a week long road trip with some friends and found the company to be great. Camper van worked well for us and the customer service was fantastic. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the campervan had everything we needed without any issues.
