Had a surreal experience here last night with a friend. We thought we would pop in for dinner as it looked good and wasn't overly busy. Once seated we were ignored until we finally went and ordered our drinks from the bar. When they eventually decided to come and see if we were ready to order food, we had by then decided we would just finish our drinks and go somewhere else. A little while later a different waitress came and asked us if we were ready to order, we again said we would not be eating there after all. She visibly rolled her eyes and scowled as she walked away. Once we finished our drinks (these were actually quite good) we went to pay and asked to see the manager. Turns out the manager was our initial waitress who was shocked we hadn't enjoyed our experience and asked us to elaborate. We described our visit as cold and uninviting. She did apologise and did comp our drinks however we still left hungry knowing we would never be returning here, also wondering what the heck we had just experienced. Were we being punked? Unfortunately it seems not.

absolutely fantastic place! my family strolled in on a Saturday night on our way home to Wanganui and even tho they were just about fully booked they accommodated us well, were very friendly, fast and even looked after special requests from my fussy 8yr old daughter. Short ribs, prawn tacos and the Pana Cotta were devine, a great experience for my young family. 10 out of 10 thank you so much once again

Amazing, fresh, and tasty food. Lamb shoulder, super slaw and cauliflower salad were to die for. Love the mix and match style menu. Flavours you'd find in any well respecting restaurant in Wellington or Auckland. The service was great and staff were very friendly.

We had an amazing dinner with a large group. They were extremely accommodating in the lead up and on the evening. The staff were very polite and helpful, consistently checking on our meals and drinks throughout the evening. The food was all faultless with a great range to suit the children, as well as fabulous vegetarian and gf options for our group. In particular, the lamb melted in your mouth, and the chicken was fabulous.A great atmosphere and this place is going from strength to strength. An absolute asset to be supported in Hawera.Thank you!

Unfortunately got the Pork Belly. It wasn't cooked properly. It was 95% Fat and a couple of hours later made me extremely ill for the next 12 hours. The Service was great. Nice young Service staff. Unfortunate experience. Better luck next time

I can only assume that the chef was on break for Easter because this was possibly the most disappointing food of our trip around Taranaki. Over-priced, small portions and all cooked to a quality that I could've made at home - but probably better. Everything tasted like it came straight from the discount section in the supermarket freezer, was prepared two days in advance and quickly reheated. Two stars only because the service was good.
