Kai markets on sat morning, not good if its raining. Compared to 2006-2010 the markets area has relocated and is secure in terms of a fenced area, away from the kuirau park roundabout so safe for padestrians too. If Lamb kababs was your reason for going to that market these are still available and I paid $5 for 4 and these used to be loaded with meat... Still very yummy.

Kuirau Park Saturday Market in Rotorua is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a unique and authentic market experience. Situated in the beautiful Geothermal Kuirau Park, the market offers a wide range of food stalls and local crafts for sale. The market is a great place to grab a bite to eat and browse the stalls, making it an awesome local market. One of the highlights of the Kuirau Park Saturday Market is the variety of food options available. There are many different food stalls offering a range of cuisines, including traditional Maori dishes, which are not to be missed. The market is also a great place to try local specialties such as the famous Rotorua Hangi. The market also offers a wide range of local crafts for sale, including traditional Maori carvings and jewelry. The craftspeople are often present at their stalls, and are happy to talk about their work and the stories behind it.Kuirau Park is a beautiful place to spend a day, and the market adds to the experience. The park itself is a geothermal wonderland, with bubbling mud pools and steaming vents to explore. The market is open on Saturdays, so it is a perfect way to spend a weekend morning or afternoon.Overall, the Kuirau Park Saturday Market is an excellent destination for anyone looking for a unique and authentic market experience. Love it here. It goes til midday-1pm. But get there early (8-9am), to get the steak sammies before they go! Although there is always a variety of food to chose from such as dumplings, satay sticks, hot chips, pancakes -savoury and sweet, donuts, hot coffee etc. There is also a variety of nic nacs, plants, bric-a-brac, clothing, manuka honey, soaps, arts and crafts to suits all tastes, and occasions. There is a seated area where you can take a load off and listen to the sweet sounds. And of course afterwards you can take a beautiful stroll around Kuirau park itself, take the kids to play on the popular playground or grab some kai from one of the food stalls and have a picnic with the kids!
