Te Whara Track
We didn't have enough time to complete whole track (Ocean Beach to Urquharts Bay 7.5km one way), so we decided to start from Ocean Beach and stopped at the Te Whara (lookout). The track is a bit challenge but the view is amazing along the track. Wish I'd have enough time to complete whole track.

Te Whara Track
We did this on Boxing Day and couldn’t think of any other way to burn the calories we had consumed on Xmas day.We started from Urquharts Bay car park (we were there just after 9 am so no probs getting a parking space at the start of the trail). We first went up to see the WW battery just to look at the views from the top and continued across the paddock to the start of the track. There’s 1200 steps and some amazing views along the way and we only came across a handful of people until just after Peach Cove where we saw quite a few people who had just started the hike from Ocean Beach end.We reached Ocean Beach by 1 pm. Wish we had cash with us so we could have gotten an ice block from the surf shop. We walked back on the main road back to Urquharts Bay which took us only 45 minutes. Lots and lots of cars and people when we got to our car

Te Whara Track
Very ominous on a cloudy day. Try go when the sky's clear. Few cool rocks to climb up and the top.

Start from Ocean Beach. Get ready for steep climb up. Gets even steeper in some places. Enjoy the views on the way. Before half way up and up to the Summit there are about 250 Steps too. Closer to Summit may get bit wet and muddy as you will be in the clouds if weather is cloudy. Recommend walking stick. Walking down back is faster but take care of your knees. If you are doing full track on the other side then plan accordingly. Best track and views. Medium to hard grade.

Te Whara Track
The te whara track offers a great incline challenge and lots of views to catch from ocean beach but once in the forest you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery and also not many flies are around which are always a plus.

Te Whara Track
Very damp and lots of roots. I would say not suitable for children. There are lots of steps. Its definitely a challenge and would recommend for people that have some kind of athletic ability.

Te Whara Track
Can be muddy and slippery after sets of rains, please be aware. Nevertheless totally worth going uphill and getting a bit dirty on the way up. Awesome views await
