Bargain Chemist Papanui

So looking at the comments apparently this place is known for its racism and discrimination towards people of color!! I went today and one of the staff came to me and asked to take out what I put in my pocket when it was actually my phone!! She didn't even ask politely in case she was wrong but no she was utterly rude asking me to empty my pocket!! I felt so bad and I cried and all was she saying that you don't need to feel offended I was just asking" but NO she wasn't just asking she accused me!!"

Terrible service when I tried to get a refund for a not so cheap product I purchased that did not work, I had the receipt, was shouted at & spoken to like I was stupid by the manager who said it's just 'buyer beware' in other words 'too bad' & had my receipt thrown back at me. I was a regular customer & will not be going back.

Followed around the store by various staff members approached in every aisle. Worst offender sandy with the pink highlight hair. Even heard staff say watch the woman with the pink hair in the next aisle. Not cool won’t be back

Monique was patient and helpful, with a fantastic sense of humour. 10/10 customer service.

Not great service here. I've been in twice to get something, and they've told me that it's not in stock, instead of helping me to look for it.The first time, the staff member said they didn't sell saline. I went to look anyway and found heaps of it.This time, I asked where the glycerol is. She looked confused, then promptly told me they don't have it. When I said it was in stock online, she told me to go and ask at the counter, and walked off. Super unhelpful. When I got to the counter there was nobody there, so I left and bought it at a proper pharmacy where they were actually helpful.

Jenna served me tonight. She was fantastic. She knew where to find what I was after, was very helpful & friendly

I've been to a lot of branches of Bargain Chemist in both the North and South Islands and I believe that the service in the Papanui branch is simply the best. The staff are always helpful and go the extra mile. And the manager, Bessie, is the most amazing, knowledgeable, efficient, and amazing person. She always gives me excellent advice and is knowledgeable about the various supplements. It's obvious that she trains her staff to serve with excellence. Bargain Chemist Papanui is my go-to pharmacy and I recommend it highly to friends!

I always go to the bargin chemist and have never had a problem with them until tonight. The moment we walk into the store the lady moved from behind the counter and she followed me and my sisters around as if we were gonna steel. Made me feel uncomfortable and actually made me cry cause I have never felt like that in another store. My sister went back in and asked them if there was a reason why they were following us around and all they said was we were just doing our job" when we knew the reason was because we were big samoan women. Like I get it and there was no need for them to stand so close to us when they could've just watched us from a far and not make us feel so uncomfortable. Not everyone there is racist but the lady's who were working tonight are! Cause I know for sure that they weren't following around the other customers in store. The date is 13/04/22 and the time I went was 7.30"

Wanted this Bargain Chemist to price match a product with Chemist Warehouse. And even though i had the proof of price on Chemist Warehouse letterhead, they would not match it. They are no good and rude so go to a chemist who are nicer and more professional
