I gave it 4 stars before, now down graded to two stars. Since Jan 2023, petrol is more expensive than Auckland. There is a minimum $40 to spend for that joke 6 cent discount. This is not explained properly. Will not pump there again, unless I have to...

In my experience today I found price is low but I rate the service the same. With foaming diesel I managed to fill up another 10ltrs slowly after the pump had stopped automatically, but 2 staff came to tell me at different times they were closing. I found this not good customer service to tell customer they can't fill any more. Even after I had completed filling, cars were still lining up to fill and able to do so. Would suggest put a big sign outside with operating hours.

Have been buying gas at Gas Pokeno for over 25 years now. Wonderful staff, wonderful service, wonderful small country independent gas station. I am happy to continue supporting a country business like Gas Pokeno for as long as it exists. It reminds me of traditional New Zealand gas stations the likes of which are disappearing all over the country. I wish them continued success.

Quaint little gassie with pleasant and helpful staff. Also has postal services during open hours. As this place closes at 6pm, it would be a great improvement and handy facility for locals and travelers passing through, if the pumps could be able to read swipe card or chip.
