This chap is a bonafide legend. I recently sent my high-end chef's knife back to the supplier to be sharpened (which took a week due to having to be couriered). To my dismay, it came back even less sharp than when I sent it away; I noticed it right away. I'm seriously at a loss to understand how this can happen - but it did.At first I was hesitant about leaving my pride and joy with Sharpen NZ; sharpening high-end chef knives correctly is a completely different ball game to sharpening axes and lawnmower blades ... but Mike was more than up to the task - doing a fantastic job (the original seller appears to have sharpened it at completely the wrong angle).In future I'll be taking it back to Mike for its annual maintenance; he had it sorted in a few hours - charged much less - and even buffed out a nasty grind mark that I suspect that the original seller inflicted accidentally. This chap knows his stuff; my pride and joy is now back to being as sharp as a cutthroat razor. Literally.

I took some of my in-laws kitchen knives to Sharpen as I was sick of mushing the tomatoes, he restored the edge of the old carver and made them all scary sharp. they are now awesome 10/10 service10/10 affordablethanks heaps

Took 3 knives to be sharpened and was offered a while-you-wait service. Knives are like new again! Super sharp and very very pleased with the finish on them. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting something sharpened!

Sharpen NZ is incredible. I find it hard to find a good professional Knife sharpener. I phoned Mike up and brought in 4 knives. He was able to do the job on short notice and get them back to me the same day. His prices are more than fair. The completed job is incredible, so sharp. Exceeded my expectations as I have had experiences with other sharpeners (not necessarily Nelson) and I get a little nervous of the outcome. Great job Mike, thanks
