Greta Valley Camping Ground
If you're looking for an over-night stop or longer travelling on SH1 then Greta Valley campground is very handy and spacious. Nice friendly host.

Budget accommodation exceeded expectations, a comfortable cabin, clean facitys, and very nice hosts who go the extra mile! Food at the adjacent Greta Yavern was great.

Amazing place, cheap and clean. Lived there for 6 weeks.Basically including everything we need, wash machine, toilet and kitchen and all facilities are cleaned and tidy up everyday by owner.

Clean tidy can not exit the way you enter metal track the exit onto tavern parking area could be difficult for large vehicles and caravans worse if very wet

Awesome place to park up for a night. Turned up and the place was essentially closed up for the night but the owner still let me set up my tent for the night. the facilities are nice and clean. Definitely recommend this place.

Owners were friendly, sites were nice however the facilities are dated and some basic things have been overlooked there was no rubbish bin in the kitchen, dirty tea towels and cloths, only one plug for 4 sinks, the hot water was intermittent in the kitchen and in one shower my daughter was scolded as it didn’t have any cold there was no sign to say it was broken, and the toilets and kitchen didn’t appear to have regular cleaning. Note. Boil water notice still in place as at Feb 23. If you are going to Motanau this is a good spot as the beach on sandy bay road is not a far drive away, if you are not sure how to get to it ask the owner of the camp.

Greta Valley Camping Ground
What a lovely campground and such a short drive from Christchurch. We were lucky to pretty much have the place to ourselves for 3 nights with our dog. Clean amenities and the lower terrace was sheltered from the Nor West. Yes, there is a bit of road noise from trucks going past on the main road, but we noticed it was a lot quieter over the weekend compared to week days. Powered site with rubbish & recycling available as well as water and a dump station. We enjoyed our stay.
