Front desk attendant told us upon arrival she was clearing out at 6pm (then no one around in the morning, we're talking 10am. Just cleaning staff somewhere - kind of creepy as no lights on in lobby)I know the township is struggling post-Gabrielle but still toilet seat about to come off the bowl, and mattress or its protector sounded like you were lying in corn flakes every time someone moved.

We enjoyed a two night stay at Expressotel. Everything about the hotel was perfect from the greeting by Arlene, email correspondence with Graeme, the tasteful décor, clean, comfortable, spacious room and surprise Happy Birthday bubbles complimentary in our room were an especially nice and appreciated touch. We had a fabulous view over the park and the location of the property being so accessible for walking all around town. I highly recommend this property and will stay again and again. Thanks team!

The room was very nice and clean, tidy and modern. We had everything you'd need for a short stay. The location is good for the main street of Napier for shopping. The reception was very warm and welcoming and helpful. There is limited parking behind the hotel which was quite narrow but plenty of parking around the hotel.

The room was on the smaller side but it had everything I needed for an overnight stay. It was clean, tidy and the bed was very comfortable. No problems with noise as well. The lighting around the mirror was a nice touch.

Spacious and comfy room, clean linen and towels, close to city centre, restaurants and bech, however:- No plug to utilise bath tub or sinks;- Previous guest rubbish left in bathroom;- Used bar of soap complete with attached hairs left in shower;- Hot room on entry, probably due to the next point; and- Broken AC unit that only works on hot setting.

Really cool place to stay. Got up with the sun every morning between 5 and 6. Room was extremely comfortable, would have liked bigger cups and another armchair but that is minor.

Bathtub needs a good scrub and cleaners need an eye for detail. No plugs, was wanting a hot bath and had to wait a night and half a day. No room service. Bit disappointing. But be a nice hotel with the rooms extra clean and maintenance.

Excellent location, so handy to everything. Room was extremely clean and comfortable. Biggest bed we'd ever slept in and was so comfortable. Lovely friendly lady on reception explained everything to us, will definitely stay again.
