Opal Hot Springs & Holiday Park

A place to slow down and relax and spend some time in nature.You can tell this place is designed with those things in mind.Beautiful place. Stopped here on my travels. It was so lovely to have a break from all the driving and mineral pools are the best!I noticed the beautiful goldfish out front and the memorial plants too.Patient and kind customer service.Will book in next time I visit family or when my husband and I take a holiday.I have only been to the pools so far. It is peaceful with all the trees along the path.Thank you team opal :)

Had a private spa as the Ramaroa pool was booked. It was very relaxing. The people before us were 10 minutes into our time by the time they came out. But 45 minutes was long enough for us, we had booked an hour. Think we'd definitely get in earlier and book the Ramaroa next time

Caravan & motorhome park. Clean, tidy and friendly. Facilities all well maintained. Thermal pool has 3 Temps ranging from chlorinated pool at 28 - 30 c and 2 other pools rated at 37 degrees and 39 degrees. A top stay - need to book early as it fills up really quickly.

Great place to stay! Pools are great, staff are very friendly! Facilities are old and a little run down but still clean and nothing wrong with them! Plus! Who would of thought that they had taxis in Matamata … we one from there to town and back! Great stay ( our second time staying there too )

Almost no cellular data signal. Only got one or two bars out of five(3G) when walking around to find signal on my iPhone 12. Zero bar out of five most of the time. They have Wi-Fi though(not free). Spacious pool with a slide. And two hot springs pools(37 & 39 degrees centigrade). The bedrooms are not soundproof in the suite. There’s a playground with three swings, monkey-bars and a slide.

Great campsite. Love, love the hot pools, especially the private one.Great place to go. Very friendly team on-site. Small shop. TV room, laundry. Bathrooms were well kept and clean (little cold- but what do you expect from open bathrooms in Autumn)

I should have known this wasn't going to be a great experience when I try to pay at check in and the VERY rude , aggressive male owner was rushing out the door to yell at two elderly long term residents that were there instead of focusing on a potential customer watching it all.I had to leave at 8:45 at night due to so many cockroaches,my kid's were to scared being young.I gave key to the owner and simply said too many cockroaches to stay,instead of being apologetic,he just shrugged his shoulders and laughed and said you would pack up and leave because of a few cockroaches.I could not believe what I heard.You should not be in a costomer based business.You are very hostile,agressive and rude when I was only polite to you.The only good thing about this place is the heated pool's.

We went to the hot pools. $8 per adult which is pretty good. Stayed for a few hours and left. The showers could do with a spruce up. Lovely polls. Kids had a blast.

Mattresses on the beds in the cabins are very old thin and hard. Public shower very poor, blocked rose bad condition of shower and toilet rooms. Did not expect to have contact with a cockroach and ants. The only good thing we enjoyed was the thermal pools. Overall not worth the price or experience.
