VINZ - Vehicle Inspection NZ- Christchurch City

Because it was a level 3 appointment AND they had moved to their new premises, I was quite anxious. I certainly needn't have been. The staff there were amazing and so welcoming even though I had never met any of them before. Felt so at ease.

All depends on thier mood.1. My tinted car failed but my friend's car tinted excatly the same passed other day. And I had to remove the tinted.2. Took my other car and they said, something is wrong with my vehicle and I took it to the mechanic. He shocked to see that there is nothing wrong. Took to other mechanic and said the same thing. Nothing to fix. Again all depends on thier mood. After 3pm they stare at you. I think after 3 pm it is home/beer time. Don't want to be bother.I would not recommend them.

Using my vehicle from last 3 years no issue with my seats as I have 7 seater. I got COF multiple times. But this time when I took my car there for COF for same car. This time they said to either remove seats or bolted them . It’s not standard. But why they remember now after 3 years.

Wasn't told that they had a weight limit cof wasted 2 hours of my time hopeless staff didn't even apologize to me or ring Litchfield to see if they could help,very disappointed.and to top that s she said have a nice day

This is to say thank you to Krishneel Singh from VINZ Carlyle St Christchurch.I had an ongoing compliance documentation issue which was finally resolved after 17 years when he put me in touch with SOCNZ. Great communication from Krish who was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process. 5 Star Service.

I don't recommend this place, the person check my car is blind, my park lights is in good condition but he said park lights need to change. Another issue is my cargo lid,he said it's not suitable for nzta standards, I was shocked in last 5 years using the same cargo lid in my car and pass the cof without any problems. I went to another mechanic with the cof sheet and he checked my car ,he pretty happy with the car condition, but unfortunately I have to go through vinz,vtnz or AA for cof inspection, finally the mechanic quote $1600 for fix all of the issues which addressed, even not necessary. I don't recommend this place, don't waste your time and money.

In contrast to the last review I have a sad tale. I liked the idea of a booking but the number online took me to the national office and then I was transferred, online is coming.Upon arrival I then got told it would be a 30min wait from when I was booked in for. Eh? I thought this was to speed things up and now I am going to spend 40min waiting. (if your point of difference is booking to speed things up I suggest it occurs)Then watching my car sit in the bay for 30min with nothing happening to it was, well, annoying. In all I spent just over an hour waiting for my car to receive it's WOF.Nice staff but your process needs some work.

Avoid this place at all costs, failed my vehicle for the darkness of it's tints which it has had since 2016 and are clearly legal, hence why I purchased them. My vehicle is a modern car with professionally applied tints. After being failed here (at a cost of $78) I took my car to a specialist Holden service center where it passed with no issue and they were much cheaper. Clearly a theme with this place, if your car has tints don't waste your time and money here. Also ridiculously picky and pick up things that are not even part of WOF such as the seat linings.

I was in a bind and needed to have a wof on my car done asap. Called up and the receptionist was amazing and helpful and the staff was so kind as I was waiting. My only regret was not thanking them before I left
