Mantra Lake Tekapo

The staff was terrible, can find any. Need to call a number & they only talk to you on the phone. The cabins were OK but heating was inadequate at the G floor.This hotel has no view of the lake nor access. If you are looking for lake view or access to the lake, give these cabins a miss

Due to unforeseen circumstances we ended up getting in real late at night. Our hosts organised a key pick up for us, and were very accommodating.Place was immaculate, with lots of open space out our bedroom windows, perfect for some astrophotography.

Very spacious townhouse for the family. The Upstairs was very hot and there was a fan provided for guests. We requested a second fan as it was otherwise difficult to sleep.The windows and doors don't have flysceens either so you couldn't really leave the doors or windows open to cool down. They also had a air conditioner downstairs in the living area.The kitchen, bathroom and cooking facilities were also fantastic.Large backyard and a short 10 min walk to the Church and maybe 15 mins to centre of town.

Unfortunately, the level of maintenence is pretty low. The shower head in our apartment is leaking, hence the water pressure in the shower was low. We got a rusty frying pan in the kitchen. Unusable. The overall smell in the apartment was unpleasant, seems it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned. On our first night here we had to fight a massive bug attack in the bedroom- if that is a known problem, why not install window bug nets???

Good place to stay. Very quiet and well maintained. Last stayed here 5 years ago. Glad to say that the apartment units still look almost the same.Enclosed garage with electric doors lead directly to the apartment unit.Each unit has its own washer and dryer.Kitchen is well equipped with crockery and cookware. Has a microwave and conventional oven.Downside - no daily cleaning service available.Reception is unmanned. Can be reached via telephone to the nearby Peppers Resort.Not much of a view but walkable distance to the shores of Lake Tekapo.The advertised barbecue pit is common and located poolside.Wifi reception and speed is good.

Lovely, clean, comfortable. Internal access garage. Swimming pool on site What more could you want. Easy check in & out. Will definitely stay there again..

I was expecting luxury and whilst overall first impression was ok faults soon appeared. Carpets threadbare in places cracks in wall and paint peeling off. Electric kettle leaked, which is dangerous, lights over breakfast counter not working also needed a good clean as covered in thick dust as where other furnishings also. Washbasin cracked several places and seemed to have sellotape holding parts together, no oven tray to cook or grill food, panel heater in lounge did not work, net curtains in lounge are ripped with large holes. So unfortunately whilst comfortable certainly not luxury and did not warrant the one night cost of almost $500. Would be grateful for a reply to this post addressing the issues.
