It doesn’t matter where you look in NZ it’s a post card. It’s hard not to take a great picture

Great for good mobile data coverage (based on my connection via Vodafone). There is an open shed with sink which may be good for food prep and cooking with your own stove. The bad thing about this place has to be about the relentless sandflies which will find their darnest way to get to you.

Beautiful views. Great proximity to trailheads. Unfortunately right off the road, the location was better suited to a picnic area than a campground. Like all NZ campgrounds we stayed at, the camp sites would benefit from more space and privacy between them and a picnic table and fire pit for each camp site.

A great DOC Camp site with clean long drop toilets, a shelter with seats and benches. Located opposite the parking area and track to the Blue Pools. An elevated view over Cameron Flat and river.... Gets really icy and cold in winter. No cell or Internet coverage.

Beautiful location, DOC camp-site not expensive but also basic amenities, no shower and only a drop toilet. There is excellent 4G coverage due to an antenna in the camp-site.If you are looking for a place to swim and chose this spot due to its proximity to the Blue Pools, it is a 30 minute walk to the pools for a dip. Pleasant Flats camp ground (another camp ground on the Haast pass) is on the river and is better for swimming. We went in January 2023, and we made 3 mistakes:1. It was unbelievably cold at night, so rug up2. The sandflies here are hell on earth, as the other reviews have mentioned. Please bring strong bug repellent3. There is no easy access to water, so stock up before you make camp.Beautiful views and convenient stopping point on the Haast pass, but be prepared.

Beautiful sight right across from the Blue Pools. You can get service here surprisingly. Long drop toilets. It was quite busy when I stayed for 2 nights in early January. The sandflies are TERRIBLE HERE! so just be aware of that and come prepared. It's a nice view around the valley.

Quiet campsite in the middle of the mountains. Basic facilities, toilet and water but that's ok for the DOC price. There was only a couple of others staying at the site, even though many people passed through. Warning to campers, even though it was the end of December and very hot during the day it was freezing at night, there was ice on the car and tent in the morning, bring an extra blanket!

I just passed by it. It's flat, surrounded by trees so less windy here. It's looks good for camping. Here's next to the main road, and near a small stream with a bridge over it.

Excellent price in an excellent location!Easy to find, toilets well cleaned and maintained.Just 1 kilometer away from the Aspring Park at Blue Pools entrance, better place to stay, just impossible...Just one important observation, the taps have no water treatment, so, if you are planning to go, take enough water or something for water treatment.

Nice clean place to camp. Best place if you like waking up with mountains around you. No shower place, just long drop toilets. Great cell coverage and tables are available. If you forgot to book online you can pay with cash, theres a box close to the entrance where you can register and pay, if I remember correctly its $10 for adults and $8 for kids, per night. You can just choose any spot so be kind to your tent neighbor. It’s next to the Blue pools track so it attracts a lot of tourists. BEWARE OF SANDFLIES! Woke up with our tent covered in sandflies, mossies and spiders.
