Lake Tekapo Cottages

Super lovely, clean and tidy. The owner was super friendly when we’d turned up super late at night looking for a place to stay. Beautiful accommodation.

Great value for money. A cosy little granny flat right on the edge of Lake Tekapo. 5 min walk into town, wake up to a view of the ranges to the East, clean and well appointed. A perfect and affordable base for exploring the area.

Cute little place by Lake Tekapo. It’s very convenient, the owners are very friendly and there is a cute dog there. However,the heater is not really working, so it gets very cold at night especially in the toilets. I would recommend this for a short stay!

We stayed at Beech cottageAnd it was spacious,bright and airy, and lovely grounds and parking. A glimpse of the lake and close to town. Having a washing machine was great having been on the road for a few days. On the downside, the decor and furniture were very tired. The main sofa was very stained and the leather sofa had little leather left on it. The carpets were also stained in places. The washing machine, cooker and dishwasher were functional but need replacing due to age. The mattress in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable and the duvet beneath didn't improve it. As is, we believe it was overpriced, however, with updating will be a lovely place to stay.

We stayed in the Tui cottage with our wee dog. Has everything you need - tidy and well equipped. Plenty of places to take your dog for a walk in the area - down the waterfront or head up Cowan hill track on the other side of the highway.

I booked online and it was easy to check-in. We got the Rowan cottage which was located just off the main road.The cottage was decently sized but there were no doors apart from the bathroom. There were curtains for the two sleeping areas. What was interesting was that the light fixtures didn't have switches but rather a rope to turn them on and off. It did take a while for the air con to start up to heat the unit but once it got going it was fine. There was a small kitchenette but we didn't use it. The lounge was decently sized as was the dining area but again we didn't end up using either for much.The location was really good, just a stone's throw away from the Church of the Good Shepherd. It did require walking over the bridge to get to the main town area but it was a short and fairly nice walk.The place was a nice getaway and we were lucky enough to see snow fall around the cottage and deck.

Cute, warm, rustic cottage. Host was extremely helpful and friendly. Location great with a 10min walk to the village and supermarket. Would definately stay here again.

The cottage was well equipped and tidy. We stayed with our dog and there was good space for him to run around. An easy walk to the Lake and the Church of the Good Shepherd. The room had the best shower ever!

Great little cottage for family holiday. Cosy rooms and great location: right next to town and still feels very secluded.
