Schist Rock Lodge
This was our favourite stay whilst on the Otago Rail Trail. It felt very luxurious, so clean and new, great quality linen, huge bed, great space with a lovely outlook. I wished we could have had longer there. DIY continental breakfast in the room- fabulous!

Stayed the night at the end of our first day on the Otago Rail Trail. Fantastic, modern units, comfortable, nicely furnished and decorated. Excellent breakfast provided. Our host Mandy really looked after us. Very highly recommended.

We stayed at Schist Rock Lodge for one night as part of our Otago Central Rail Trail adventure. The room was so modern and comfortable. We loved our stay there.Mandy is a welcoming and helpful host.We would gladly return and recommend Schist Rock Lodge to others.

Lovely outlook. Quiet, comfortable, warm and so new. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Good facilities including a huge bathroom with a bath (great for soaking after a day riding) and storage for the bikes in their massive shed.

Lovely place to stay! New studios with a private deck and stunning views. Fabulous hosts. Super clean and a great continental breakfast. Very spacious with large bathrooms and kitchen. These studies were perfect after a long day biking to put our feet up and switch off. Thank you!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Stayed one night as part of the Otago Rail Trail. Classy, sophisticated décor and a super comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast. (Thank-you Mandy.) Two luggage racks! (Why don't other accommodation have two luggage racks?) Wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the views from the porch. We are happy to recommend Schist Rock.

This is an absolutely fabulous place to stay should you be riding the rail trail. Our host was extremely accommodating, arrangements were in place to charge the e-bikes, the room was so neat, tidy and well thought out. Highly recommended…

On the Otago rail trail all the accommodation was first rate, but Schist Rock Lodge was standout excellence. Cleanliness, comfort and attention to detail. Perfectly designed modern accommodation with quality furniture and décor. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
