The 'new' Waterloo Station when it was first completed was a definite improvement over the old, tiny station, but seems to be under-utilised these days (or over-built in the first instance) and so does not justify the large build (train traffic volume has not increased). Ticketing services are no longer available at this stop and the building / office space has been vacant for years, which is a waste of rate-payers' contributions.On the other hand the park-and-ride facilities have become increasingly inadequate as P & R-commuter numbers have grown. The second best train station on the Hutt Valley line. Obviously Wellington station with New World and cleaner toilets just edges it out...
