Ace Rental Cars Christchurch Airport

Fast shuttle service from airport to their office. Rental car was clean, quick pick-up and easy drop-off during after office hours.

They don't have a counter in the airport but they have a free shuttle in front of DOOR 2 in the airport (opposite the multistorey car park), where ACE carrental van would park. There are many place called 'shuttle' carpark around the airport, so be careful that you are not waiting at the wrong place.

I had a mix opinion of them due to some reviews. I found their phone line to be not very user friendly.However their price for the car was very good, the car I got was a compact, but I got a pretty generous Yaris Cross which appear to be brand new with plenty of boot space.The guy managing the office and shuttles on a Monday afternoon/evening was very friendly and helpful.

We booked a Kia Carnival from Christchurch returning in Queenstown. The car was only about 3 months old / 12k and a great drive...clean. The staff at Christchurch (Maninder) was quite friendly.Only issue was with returning the car at Queenstown airport - the return instructions were to their depot which was about 10 mins drive from the airport which had actually closed. I dropped the keys to the drop-box and then called them, only to be told that the return was changed to Hertz at the airport! Waited 15 mins for a lift back to the airport that they assured was on the way, but then booked an uber $20 ride back to the airport given I was running out of time for the return flight back home. I would suggest the mgt to update their return instructions.

Pleasant experience picking up our car from Christchurch and dropping it off at Queenstown. Took us a while to book our shuttle pick-up service from CHC as the online portal was a little confusing and we needed to enable location services on the mobile’s browser, but we got there eventually. Shuttle driver named Percy was friendly and welcoming, and the person who processed our information and gave us the car keys named Sam was great as well. Our rented X-trail was in good condition.Drop-off at Queenstown was a little confusing as the drop-off location listed in our order confirmation email was closed on our drop-off day, and instead had a paper stuck on the storefront that asked us to park at a Hertz drop-off location at the airport. Nevertheless we managed to find the new drop-off location and returned the keys to a Hertz representative. All in all a pleasant experience.

0800 number goes around in circles and doesn't actually let you book a shuttle or speak to a person. Overly difficult to book a shuttle from airport through the website. Not convenient or user friendly, would not recommend.

Super happy with service by Ace car rental in Christchurch! Car was ready, clean and almost brand new! We booked a Kia Carnival and it was just perfect for 8 people and 4 large luggages.Upon returning the car, the shuttle service was super quick. Would definitely book with them again!

The vehicle we rented, the USB plug seemed a little sensitive and would disconnect now and then. Which meant if you rely on it for directions around christchurch city and surrounding areas, you would be in trouble on your own. Otherwise cheap on gas and good for long trips
