The views are absolutely beautiful.Unfortunately the mussles were over cooked and mussel flavour lost by the sauces added. The vegetarian meal was tasteless. Service good. We got given wrong drinks twice which were sent back then appeared on bill. Which were taken off before paying. Very dissapointed and strongly recommend you look at your bill carefully and out of our meals steak was great and smokefish small meal was fine in our opinion. Would go back but trying something else.

Lovely place for a meal beside the river mouth with amazing views... very friendly and professional staff and service. The tuna was delicious! They have their very own apple cider too.

We went for afternoon nibbles and drinks. Did not disappoint. The location is beautiful, amazing views and was fairly quiet post-lunch. Dog friendly and staff were so lovely and friendly. We had the carpaccio and the crudo along with some nice local wines, all amazing and delicious. Food was exceptionally. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone!

Fab views but the service is oor. Not busy but waited 20 mins for a cup of coffee that had been spilled in the saucer. You order at the bar and the till wants you to add service before you've received any. The views are great but dont offset the irritation of the service.

A recent turn around and a fresh menu has given this seaside establishment a great kick. The staff from the start were pleasant, informative and chatty. Even offering wine tasting! Good menu options offering local seafoods but not to many that you become overwhelmed. Hot chips and aioli are always a favourite. Gnocchi was lovely as was for the chicken and seafood soup. Soup could have been a little hotter. The garlic bread accompanied was delicious with a generous lathering of both garlic and butter. The surrounding are great for both dining in and outdoors. Desirable tables are located indoors by the windows above the water inlet. Plenty of parking however I suspect over the busy summer season this could change. Overall, reasonably priced delicious food served with smile. Keep it up!

Went for a post Gym coffee. Waitress delivered it with half of it spilt out of the cup onto the saucer, and no apology for that and no greetings to us, and we received rude service from the waitress who took our order, labeling our table as hippies" on the order docket

Mapua itself is a nice little spot to visit. Some interesting art shops and other cafes.The Apple Shed food is outstanding. Service was great. And such a nice spot anytime of the day or night.Blankets and heaters for the colder evenings for outside seating.Right on the estuary lovely view.

Had a really nice lunch here on a beautiful sunny day. It's a busy spot but the staff did a good job of fitting us in, as we didn't book (but I get the feeling we were lucky and you should book). Our food was pretty good, some of the ingredients in a couple dishes were quite bizarre (king fish and salmon I'm looking at you) but not bad! Service was great, drinks and meals came out fairly promptly, and overall we had a great time!
