Not a great experience this!We went to Topp Country Cafe at Methven for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in July.We had two mains - a veggie burger and soup of the day, which was broccoli.While all the food was perfectly palatable, there was nothing to write home about- in terms of taste and presentation.The disappointments:- No serviettes were provided. When we requested, we were given 1, between 3 diners!- both the white cups in which we were served hot water were dirty.Positives:Staff were all friendly and courteous.We were served hot water upon our request.We will most likely try another place when at Methven next time.

Delicious breakfast!! For me, it was the best breakfast I had in NZ! The latte was also very delicious! Adorable, sweet women running the show! If you’re in Methven get you some yummy breakfast here!

Best coffee in town! Owner/barista Donna is an expert coffee maker. Entering the Topp Cafe is a true mid Canterbury experience, with Topp Twins memorabilia - and if you're lucky you may even catch a glimpse of the Dame herself. The food is really great, a favourite is Eggs Bene!

We stopped off here to grab a coffee and a bite to eatMy coffee was ok, my partners coffee tasted different to mine, and they were both cappuccinos.Only gluten free options were the sweet cakes.However the atmosphere is nice, with a fireplace and a couch infront of it, and a kiddies play area.

Rate 5 stars based on the blueberry muffin i have tried. I usually go for the blueberry muffin aross the cafe i visited. I have to say i haven't had such blueberry muffin that make me go WOW in a long time. This muffin is perfectly heated up to the core and i get to enjoy the super moist and soft texture, along with that oven baked aroma of the browned surface of the muffin! I dont even need to compliment it with the additional butter served with it.It might not be big in size, but the taste is definitely what i will miss and make me come back for. It made me realise what have been missing in all the previous muffins i tried, which are usually not fully heated up / dry / lack of the oven aroma.Besides that, service is good and the mocha i tried is just about as good as other cafe.

Made a great decision today. Coffee and carrot cake . I'm quite fussy about my carrot cake. It was perfectly moist and the flavour was the best I have had for many years.Thank you for my tasty treat

Loved this place. We had yummy breakfasts. Eggs on toast for my partner and waffles for me. Really delicious. And I met the Topp Twins. They are as friendly and funny in real life as they are on TV.

Great cafe, we always stop in here after a session at the Opuke Hot Pools. You are always made very welcome and the food is good home cooking. There is a rustic feel to the cafe and if you are as lucky as I was today you may be able get a photo opportunity and conversation with Linda ❤️

Wonderful cafe in Methven. Great atmosphere and really nice scones. Lots of photos of the Topp Twins over the years and Donna had everything under control for our large group. Good choice of fresh food.

Been here twice and it's been great each time! They have the best iced chocolates and iced coffees! Food tastes great chips are always nice and hot and crispy too! Great vibes of everyone who works there are just so great and inviting!
