A great place to stop and try a few beers. It has a huge range and if you're overwhelmed by the 90 beers to choose from, the friendly bar staff will help you find something you like.Tony knows more about beer than any man on the face of the earth. A must visit pub in New Zealand

Tony and Kate are wonderful hosts! This place is so cozy and inviting, and there’s plenty of comfortable seating to relax into with a book in front of the fire. We had a lovely time staying here and getting out and about.

If you are into Craft Beer then this bar offers a passport to heaven - among other breweries you will not believe the selection from Garage Project that Tony somehow manages to get his share of!

Barkes Lodge is lodge and also a bar with over 100 different beers. We went over there for the bar. The bar is really cosy and nice furnished with wood panels on the walls and all up the ceiling. Tony the owner have only open at Friday's in the summer. He knows alot about the beers and can recommend anything you want. It's was also some cake you could have. It's a nice to be here and just have a chat and enjoy the beer. He also have a Xbox with some fun games.

My son has just come back from a school ski trip. He has a very strict diet and was concerned if they would be able assist. Fortunately, the chef's were sensational and went out of their way to help. He had such a great time. Thanks to everyone at Barkers Lodge.

I came to this place as a child, my dad was a cook here for one season . i recently went back 'as a adult with my own children'' and my heart melted, everything was warm cosy and modern ''but still the same as when i was young'' the big cozy fire, the amazing feel of a lodge in the mountains like on a movie . but heres the thing , the owners are so incredible , lovely giving people , they are awesome , i have never had such a wonderful time, it left us wanting more , thanks so much Barkers Lodge '2018' 'p.s one more thing i wanted to note, they are really kid friendly , they have huge tv's with ps 4 and xbox for the kids to chill out and play on for the down days , they also have top computers with free internet , and a pool table ... miss this place already!!!

A fantastic local bar with a giant selection of craft beers - most of which are one off batches with only a few dozen available. Tony supplies delicious bread sticks too - you'll need them with the stronger than average drinks! A great spot for a catch up with friends
