Octopus Energy NZ

Was very impressed with this company so far, a very easy web based account and energy use rather than the often buggy apps that many others use. Easy to ring and talk to a real person, I guess the only negative is that about a week after joining the price has increased, while I am locked in for a year, next year they will no longer be the cheapest and hopefully they hold my current price..

I would say it is one of the most honest companies in Nz, I was with 3 other companies in the past few years, but my bills were at least 30% higher!!Thank you Octopus for being honest.

This power company is absolutely the best for customer service and most of all value for money I thought my last power company was good value how wrong was I. These guys dont really advertise much but with there service and value for money word and mouth will be enough for them to shake up other companies. Dont ever hesitate to join these guys you will be shocked at your savings like I am after 4 months

Hi, I am a new customer with Octopus and looking forward to see if I can achieve any savings. They changed my electricity meters but unfortunately there was a problem, however this was rectified quickly and their whole team cared about the customer. Excellent customer service from Octopus. I find the name is good they hope to reach out to everyone.

Excellent customer Service. I'm glad Kat picked up my call the other day. I don't know if they have a questionnaire handy for all phone queries but Kat was absolutely thorough in going through anything that a new Octopus Energy customer might need help on. I cannot stress enough how pleasant the customer experience that call was for me. Since Octopus Energy is relatively new in New Zealand, I was surprised with the way my query was handled. I am not sure if it was your system issue that failed to track the email from my solar PV supplier (he has emailed the DG Application through) but you raising the service request for an import/export meter asap and explaining the installation timeline both on the phone call and in your email is excellent for customer satisfaction. My import/export meter has now been installed after a couple of days of our call and I am especially pleased that my excess power being sent to the grid is being credited. Thank you Kat and thanks to Octopus Energy.

I am currently with powershop, but will be making my change to Octopus in November as I am locked in with them atm. I think Octopus offers the best rates I've seen and their nightly rate is awesome. Plus who cares about the name.. sad move from that guy giving 1*. What a D.

We just had solar panels installed and Octopus engaged their contractors to upgrade our power meter. While the process took longer than expected, the Octopus customer service team happily chased the contractors to expedite the process, and kept me informed along the way. While the Octopus team don't have control over the contractors they always did their best to ensure things were on track. A credit at the end to cover power fed to the grid before the meter was changed was a very welcome gesture.

After three months with Octopus we are totally thrilled and keep telling everyone how good they are! We have substantially lower electricity bills and love being able to see how much we've imported and exported. They reply very quickly to any queries. From a bigger picture, it's so obvious that like Octopus, all the companies should incentivise people to use electricity outside of peak hours in order to reduce fossil fuel burning. Just set the timer on your dishwasher, car charging or whatever else so it runs at the cheaper time.

I've saved $50 on my powerfully after my first month. The switch over was quick and easy, so glad i did it. I've convinced my father to switch over, now that Octopus Energy now services his area.
