What to do in school holidays with the current weather. Today we took a trip on Te Huia just there and back. Kids enjoyed it we played cards along the way. Saw different scenery and stayed dry. Staff helpful and friendly

Enjoyed our trip up to Papakura so special to go through Pokeno and Tuakau wish Te Huia would stop at least at Tuakau and Te Kauwhata too. Very comfortable and clean lovely helpful staff if you haven’t got a bee card don’t panic you can get one from the lady that waits at Hamilton for the train to leave. If we don’t use this service it will disappear an incentive would be good for kids and youth to travel for free on weekends and school holidays I see if you have the Hop card you can ravel for free as a youth let’s bring it to Waikato too. Good prices from the Cafe see list on pics. It was so stress free will use in future would use more if stops at Pokeno and Tuakau. Thanks Te Huia been back enjoyed our pies this weekend the tea could do with stronger tea bags the English breakfast is very weak tea. But travel was a breeze able to relax with family and take in the views thanks again best to get off at otatahu instead of puhinui for transfer to brittomart eastern Line as only buses run from there on Saturday also get the at hop card at train stations in Auckland cheers.

Frankton train station (Te huia). Brilliant team of people. Left my passport on the train. Phoned them, they quickly found it. Some kind lady even drove to the station outside office hours to ensure I got it back. Exceptional service.

Park and ride, couldn’t be easier. There are plenty of parks available, directly at the train station. The train to Auckland is fantastic (called Te Huia). You can buy tickets on the Te Huia train itself, while it is in motion. There are seats as well as tables to sit at. Below each seat is a power socket and a USB socket. There is wifi on board, but the wifi turns off after 250 MB or 2 hours (whichever comes first), so it is unlikely to last the whole trip. I use my phone data initially then log into the wifi when my phone goes out of range (around Huntly). The cafe on the Te Huia train serves proper coffee and has hot snacks (like pies, and toasted sandwiches). The staff are lovely. They simply walk around to collect your tickets/scan your Bee card, therefore, they can help you if you didn’t know where to buy a ticket. Some people bring their bikes/electric scooters on board. There is space to put large items like this, or luggage.

Traveled from Hamilton to The Strand in Auckland on Saturday morning and back again late afternoon after a fun day with the kids in Auckland. Great service on the train. No traffic. No petrol or parking costs. Great views and a good nap on the way home. We’ll definitely be doing this again!

Traveled Saturday 5-03-22 From Frankton through to the Strand return. Very helpful friendly staff on board a very modern comfortable train. Don't expect TGV speeds at a just under two and a half hour journey, but the time went very quickly. Great to get a glimpse of towns that we would normally by-pass going by car. We thoroughly enjoyed the stress free journey, a great way to get to Auckland if you are not in a hurry. If the line was upgraded and journey time reduced, I am sure more people would use this service. The coaches are very well appointed and don't forget the free wifi. I encourage every one to try this service at least once.

Train was on time and no dramas. Very good experience. The train was very clean, toilet very clean and staff friendly. You have to have the bee card as there is only 1 pay station if paying cash

Other reviews of this station are in fact train reviews.Frankton Station itself is a poor example of a train station these days, with only one real means and direction of access and the general expectation that a car is waiting for you when you arrive.Platform seating is very limited, there is no electronic timekeeping system common to modern stations, the internal space is commonly closed, and the only intra-city public transport connection is a little walk away and doesn't even have a proper stop - on either roadside. What the station does have going for it is some shelter, the park and ride, and general cleanliness.
