Front desk staff were helpful, good location. I was put in a room at first that was fully occupied, but they fixed it quickly. I was bitten by a flea in the living room. Bathrooms were pretty clean for a hostel. Sheets were pretty stained, kind of gross.

would not recommend. front door remained unlocked all night and the door to our room was propped open all night with a traffic cone - this led to a stranger crawling in my bed in the middle of the night. most staff were pretty unhelpful and didn't seem to care about safety concerns. I've stayed in a decent amount of hostels and this was definitely my worst experience. honestly surprised this place is allowed to stay open

Good hostel, very central and it’s easy to reach almost everything by walking! The rooms are clean, the beds are good and you’ll find everything you need: kitchen, clean toilets and showers, laundry, rest areas. They provide Wi-Fi and the staff is friendly :)

The worst hostel I stayed in so far. The room I stayed in wasn’t even cleaned before my arrival. There was a lot of dirt on the floor and you can’t even open the windows so it get very stuffy, especially when it’s hot outside. The kitchen was alright but the bathroom always smelled weird. I felt very uncomfortable. The only good thing is that the location is very central.

Typical 'you get what you pay for' situation. One of the cheapest hostels in Auckland and with that also one of the worst, Staff was friendly but disorganised. When buying a bed online the room size was not mentioned, ended up being a 16 bed dorm. A disgrace not to mention that, luckily I'm a deep sleeper but this move screwed over other backpackers I reckon. So to talk about the amenities. The rooms were dirty with only 1 assigned shower per gender for a lot of people. The kitchen was completely disorganised and the internet (including the internet on their computers) was often inexistent.I would say avoid this hostel if you are planning on staying longer in the area than just a few days, it's not suitable for longer stays!

The hostel were nice. Met many lovely people who shared their stories and travels. The hostel is also very close to everything like street food and groceries. One problem I faced was when I got a towel from the receptionist I took to my room abs laid on my bed. When I went out and came back someone had taken and used it. It wasn't the biggest problem, but it was an annoying one. The rooms do come with lockers so I could have stored everything there. Luckily nothing important was taken. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the hostel seems to be fishing for goos reviews. Reason the towel was free is because they offered it on the condition I write a good review. This wasn't too bad as it only took me a few seconds and am now rectifying. But overall if you're just planning to go out and only need a good bed and storage, this hostel will fulfill that purpose.PS: there were a lot of crackheads near the area and if anyone feels uncomfortable by it, then here ya go

Couldn’t pay me to stay here again. My stay started off with realizing that the front door to the hostel was unlocked and open, same with the door to my assigned room. Not surprising that my bed was taken by a stranger with no badge. Another member of my group was given a code to get their bed assignment and key from the safe- the code given did not work, leaving us stranded(there was another guy who came in to get his key and experienced the same issue- hope he figured something out as well). There was no security or phone line to call to help at all- no wonder there was an assault here in July! The next day when we were finally given a bed, it was loud as hell, with music playing constantly, and parties in the hallways until late in the night. The staff seemed like they were travelers just trying to make a living, who genuinely wanted to help, but who didn’t have the power to make any real change with the resources they had available. Whoever manages the place gave them a sinking ship, complete with bedbugs and 24/7 blaring bluetooth speakers, and gave them teaspoons to bail out the water.

This Hostel is good for the price it costs! You will have to expect a lot of people especially in the evening if everyone wants to cook at the same time.It looks like they are trying to renovate and organise things better in the last time. There is everything you need in this Hostel and everyone is very kind, but with so many people you'll have to accept a little dirt around.

This hostel is perfectly located, close to the train station and the main streets of Auckland. The quality/price ratio is more than decent and the people there are welcoming and helpful. Plus, it definitely is a good place to meet people from all over the world.

I booked a 4 bed dorm for my family of 4 and thankfully phoned 2 weeks in advance to check we were in one dorm. It took several goes to get through on the phone and no one answered my several emails. Good thing I got though as we'd been put into 2 dorms, but they did sort that for me. The central location was the best feature. Dorm has paper thin walls so noisy guests (was only quiet between about 12.30-4.30) congregating in communal areas sound like they're in the room with you. Pillows thin and lumpy, our curtain was too small for the window, the room wasn't properly cleaned, the kitchen was a mess (guests fault!). Bathrooms were ok but with confusing signage. Entrance is grotty - guests drinking and leaving rubbish about - and feels very unsecure. Did manage to get a car park though. Would never use again - but if you're a young backpacker you will probably like it. Very nice Mexican restaurant just down the road was the highlight!
