Tramcar Diner Matakana
We had a really disappointing experience here today. Waited over 30 minutes for a take away order with no forewarning that the kitchen was running behind.The food was simply bad...the egg in our bacon hash stack was undercooked and completely put us off the food. See pictures attached. Big difference between soft eggs and raw eggs. Chips were stale and cold. I tried to find an email address to submit this complaint to but couldn't find one. Huge waste of our time and money unfortunately

Tramcar Diner Matakana
This is a favourite meal stop on the way to Tawharanui Regional Park. Today I enjoyed a nice hot curried lentil and apple soup, a creamy smooth flat white and a sublime doris plum over waffle cone ice cream. I love this place. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere just right when I'm in one of those reflective moods.

Great experience here! Lots of food on offer at very reasonable prices. Staff were friendly. The place is small and the pink colours are a bit glaring for me, but the open window seats are quite nice! No complaints about the coffee, and I'll add to the recommendations on the garlic chips - they were delicious and you get quite a large portion, so perhaps share it with someone if you're not super hungry. Overall a lovely place to go to if you're not sure where to go for a bite in the area!

Great Coffee, excellent eats. I particular enjoy the Hero Salad, which comes from the Matakana Market Kitchen downstairs. All the baked goods are awesome and there is a good selection of gluten free treats as well. Friendly service. Ice cream is amazing too.

Unbeatable prices, we visited a few times because it’s easily the most affordable place in Matakana. The burgers/chips/tacos were a bit cold, but tasted okay. However the next day I got a vegan choc smoothie and the vegan wrap, they were both really delicious!

Really lovely place to eat! I would say one thing that I love when eating at cafes like this is açai bowls or smoothie bowls! They have incredible smoothies here (quite overpriced though) and I think it’d do great business with smoothie bowls.

A good place to eat. The first eggs bene had very hard eggs, so I sent it back and the second try was perfect! They offered a free drink while I waited too, so excellent service. Cheers!

I love this place. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and the prices are so reasonable. 2 fish tacos and a large flat white for lunch, under $20. Can’t go wrong!

Lovely chai latte and yummy food, should try the chicken wrap it was delicious ; fresh veggies and tasty chicken with the sauce. Beautiful! The lady at the shop she very nice and friendly . Thank you.
