From the very first phonecall, we could feel the compassion and support of Garth and his team at a very unsettling time. We had no experience in planning a funeral and so suddenly. We felt instant confidence to follow Garths guidance even after such a short time and no previous connection personally, reassured that Garth truly heard our vision for the tribute we were planning and was able to assist us perfectly. His recommendations of a celebrant were a perfect fit and the whole process was so much more comforting than we had initially expected. No request was too hard and you were always on the end of the phone to answer any queries, and walk beside us. You have the perfect balance of professionalism and support to let your clients feel like they are among friends and not alone at such a time.We were very reassured to know our Father was in your respectful and genuine care. You were so available to us at that time, it was hard to recall that you were accommodating other grieving families at that time also, as we never felt rushed in any way. You are truly where you are meant to be and thank you too Lynette for your careful attention to detail contributing to things all running so smoothly also.Thank you for your truly outstanding service to our family at a very difficult time. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending your service within our region.Kind regardsRebecca Brears and Family

I would like to thank Garth and Lynette for there help and support in this difficult time. From the very first day, through the week, the ceremony and days after the cremation they were there for us to help. Any glitch could be fixed and was done effortlessly.Everything that was asked to happen they had arranged for the family. They work 24/7, no matter what time or day they were just a phone call away. We have such an amazing memory of this week , filled with love, support, family and friends . Thank you for your guidance. With love the Benioni's

As a family we have had the need to engage funeral directors on a number of occasions. No others have been as genuine, kind and caring as Garth and Lynette were with us just a few weeks ago when we said goodbye to a dear family member.Every matter was attended to with professionalism, compassion and nothing was too much trouble.Having everything able to be done at the one location - Alexandra House Chapel - was a great help. Even a bit of humor was not out of place for us.We have no trouble recommending Te Awamutu Funeral Services to others.Thank you again Garth and Lynette

The professionalism, guidance, advice and friendly manner that was provided to us as a family on the passing of our beloved father by Te Awamutu Funeral Services was outstanding to say the least. In an emotional and trying time Garth and Lynette were able to guide and advise us through the entire process. Thank you once again.

Attended my uncles funeral here, and at first, the male funeral director was rude about the zoom link when I asked him how to get it? He said “I dunno” (in an annoyed tone) when there was only few minutes to go until the service. He then told me to email someone to get the details… (He could’ve just shown me where the office was right away as it was only 10 steps around the corner!) Once I finally got the details to share with our extended family, that was fine. However, he wasn’t very helpful considering the time sensitive circumstances. I also felt the service was really rushed, considering the amount of people in the room, with unclear communication of how to say our goodbyes before the lid of the casket was put on. A lot of people missed out because the MC didn’t explicitly announce that everyone could say their goodbyes, she just asked if everyone could be quiet/silent? Although, I believe my uncle would’ve been happy with his send off, I can’t help but feel the staff could’ve been more considerate and caring, especially if this is their everyday jobs/career. This is an industry that requires the upmost respect and integrity. It was annoying to feel like it was just another transaction for them.

Garth and Lynette handled all funeral arrangements, including Church proceedings, catering, burial, headstone and engraving for both of my parents. From the very beginning, Garth's manner put our minds at rest, and we were confident he would do everything necessary to ensure the services would run smoothly, and all ideas from the family would be listened to and catered for in the best way possible. He was capable of being forthright when family members' ideas were either inappropriate or would clash. What impressed me the most was even though Mum and Dad's funerals were similar, Garth was able to stress that it was OK to have subtle differences to cater for their separate identities. Both Lynette and Garth, although compassionate, have a professional manner, are approachable, and we would thoroughly recommend them to anyone requiring such a service. Thank you to you both from our family

We have been to several funerals held at Te Awamutu Funeral Services, and every time after we left, we were impressed by the professionalism of Garth. A caring man showing empathy and respect.Recently my mother in law passed away and we had no hesitation in contacting Te Awamutu Funeral services. Right from the initial phone call, Garth was so sympathetic and obliging, and we straight away knew the uttermost dignity and care would be taken of mum.. When he met us at the rest home, he was so understanding and supportive in our grief and took great care of the situation. From that moment right through, to the organising of the funeral, service sheets, catering, burial (out of town) and even the headstone, Garth and Lynette were just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so kind and patient. As we went through the different stages of organising things, they were helpful and offered suggestions of things we hadn't thought of. At a time, when there so much to organise, both Garth and Lynette were the perfect people to help with any questions, patient when we wanted to make changes and offered advice. The service for mum was held in the chapel on the premises - very restful and appropriate. The refreshments after the service was organised by Garth and Lynette, wonderfully organised, and an amazing spread. The burial was held in Taranaki and we had great confidence in Garth to organise the internment in the cemetery down there. We met Garth down there, welcomed with his usual smile. He took the uttermost care that everything went smoothly and although the loss was felt, it was a special time for the family. We had contact again with Garth re the headstone and again Garth excelled in his professionalism. He showed us what was available and explained the shapes, fonts etc. It was easy to make a decision of what we wanted and Garth was so helpful in assisting us with the wording, making suggestions that were so appropriate. We received a draft copy and it was just as what we wanted. Garth offered to put the headstone in place, and did so, even sending us a photo of the completed work. Thoughtfulness and professionalism abounded in every aspect of having Garth undertake mums funeral etc. Every time we made contact with Garth and Lynette they were so caring and supportive in every way.If you were looking for a Funeral Director, I certainly, would highly recommend Te Awamutu Funeral Services, and am sure they will care for your loved one with great dignity and care and you will receive great support from Garth and Lynette in their professionalism in organising things for you.
