Smiths City Nelson

Purchased a lounge suite on 6th Feb 23, was told delivery would be 14 weeks, ok we could live with that.No updates, no communication to advise of delays, constant lies from staff about delivery once it was in NZ. Finally delivered after 21 and a half weeks.Just don’t buy from Smith City Nelson unless you really don’t expect service.

Awesome customer service and zip pay makes HP a breeze, wide range of items at decent prices. Smiths is still Smith City so don't be fooled like I was. Great stop in shop for electronics or deals/specials on most in-store items.

Went in to buy an oven. The salesperson decided to leave us and go attend to a visitor while we waited. We paid for the oven finally, after 30 minutes of waiting, and paid for it to be delivered. We rang on the delivery date to find out where it was, to be told they had no room on their truck, and so it was being delivered another day - when my electrician was already booked to wire it in. A staff member then delivered it on his private vehicle which we were thankful for, but it can't be used because it doesn't come with any sort of power cord. Ringing up has not helped, as we're told we should be grateful it was delivered on the day at all. We're now stuck with an oven that doesn't work.

For a large commercial organisation this firm has the most inept and incompetent phone system - waited 15 minutes on a dodgy line for my call to be answered and then when it finally was and I asked to be put through to the Nelson Store I ended up with another answer machine. Potential customers don't usually have 20 minutes to waste to phone a business.

I great place to shop you can always get what you wont at a cheaper price

I went to three different places in town to buy a tv. These guys had the best service by far. Friendly staff greeted me as I walked in and the staff member who served me was outstanding. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Turned out they had a great deal on the tv too. Even if it had been more expensive than their competitors I still would have done my business here. Sometimes it’s not just about the price! Keep it up.....if you can’t compete on price do it with service.

I had the pleasure of purchasing whitewater from Bryce. He offered the right amount of information to allow me to make an informed decision on what suited my needs best without the hard sell. I will definitely consider Smith City for furure homewares. The prices are similar to the bigger store and they offer a price match. The staff make it worth while regardless.
