Emerald Inn on Takapuna Beach

Spoke to Janice this morning and she confirmed they were fully booked for this Saturday. I got an email from her saying the only room available is the spa studio for $300 all inclusive. I then asked her to please book it just to get an email within a second saying its now fully booked. Janice gets a kick out of giving customers false hope..she confirmed in the morning they were fully booked just to say there is a studio available and when asked to book it she immediately said its booked up. Waste of my time and no customer service at all.I do not recommend this place at all.

Very expensive for what you get. It's pretty tired and needs a refurb pretty badly. Fan in bathroom didn't work, the iron spat out dirty water on our clothes, the cleaning was average. If you paid for what you got it wouldn't be so bad, but I guess you're paying for location

We stayed in one bedroom apartment, was a touch small. Had a very bizarre set out. Kichen vanity set out was weird. Wifi great. Location great. Wife had stayed before and enjoyed those rooms. Sending PDFs of vax pass felt a bit over the top. Photo should have been good enough. Nice and quite.

The only positive thing about this place is the location. The car parks are tiny if someone parks next to you're going to need a can opener to get into your car. The rooms are dated and tired not sure why this place has high reviews. I can assure you the rooms are misrepresented in the photos. Our room had a stale smell on arrival along with blown bulb which took multiple requests to get resolved. The bathroom which opens up onto the dining area had no windows and a fan that we were told hadn't worked in 25 years and has never been a problem which was a bafling response.The gardens are over grown and in general need of maintenance, the pool is decorative you really wouldn't want to swim in there. The rooms have no air conditioning. For $400 plus dollars a night for a room that I wouldn't expect to pay $150 for tops. Do yourself a favor stay elsewhere, I'm sure this place was great 25 years ago but it's not acceptable by today's standards.

Amazing place to stay with kids as well, beautiful fenced garden!! (…and a lovely dog to play with).Just 1 min walk to the beach and Takapuna centre. The best staff ever!We really enjoyed our stay there !

Absolutely amazing friendly staff! Amazing garden area. No information booklet left in the room so didn’t know what time the pool closed or opened, or what eatery was around, noisey road during the early mornings Comfortable beds nice and clean.

Really convenient to Bruce Mason Centre. Comfortable bed and pillows. Can be noisy with cars on the main road, but I stay here when I come for concerts.

Beautiful location near the beach with adequate rooms. Service could have been better.

Yes the place of the hotel is nice but there are too many bad things about this hotel. The parking is so small and cramped, no air conditioning,the wifi would disconnect randomly and even if you had data it wouldn’t work because of bad service. it smelled terribly in the kitchen and in the bathroom. by the end of our visit I used up a whole bottle of air freshener just to make the smell bearable. there were also bugs underneath the glass in the kitchen table .The lights were very dim and one didn’t even work. Don’t spend your money at this place it’s not worth it
