This hotel is excellent for families! Spent 2 nights there with my husband and 5 year old. Decent size, very clean and tidy room and beds, extra towels in the bathroom, nice clean bathroom with new soaps and shampoos. We even had sachets of coffee, tea, and chocolate milk for us to make us simple morning coffee. Very warm, well insulated room. Staff were lovely, they let us check in early and even upgraded our room to premium. It is also very close to the octagon and there are plenty of food shops around. Highly recommend this hotel especially if you have kids with you.

Room had strong cooking smells from prior guests. Decor a bit outdated. On a windy night, the windows were noisy and whistling - didn't seem very well sealed.

Good location with an easy walk into town. Rooms felt a little run down and the water pressure was non existent. Slightly springy bed but decent pillows. Rooms were big and it was a pretty reasonable price

Probably not the best place to stay in summer, with no air conditioning you have to open windows and run fan to keep cool which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't situated in the noisy heart of the city. The strong northerly wind rattles the iron roofing making for a difficult sleep then when you report the issue your pretty much fobbed of. If your tall expect the shower head to be aimed at your chest. On a positive note my wife liked their coffee.

The hotel has two floors with well-appointed rooms that is also spic-n-span.The restaurant is also note-worthy. Great service! The waitress on duty on the evening of 08 April 2023 was really attentive and friendly. She has a very pleasant demeanor. Her rapport with the guests was way above-par.

Nervous dropping Sami off to Otago University. This hotel is a perfect choice, the room is clean, has cooking facilities on stove, central to town. I will stay here again.

I stayed 2 nights at The Victoria Hotel. For the price, it was excellent value for money. I booked through the hotel website (got the same price as the lowest online 3rd party website) and got free parking onsite.I would definitely stay there again on my next visit.

I stayed 2 days and the service was very nice, inbuilt restaurant option with more varieties.Cons:You need to go early before 6-7pm to find a car park otherwise you need to park @ Wilson carpark and give $15 dollars @ hotel reception they will give you the coupon to use in Wilson carpark.
