Sudima Christchurch City

Had a lovely stay here. Rooms were clean, well sized and comfortable. Only downside was the outlook onto the carpark. Otherwise excellent, breakfast was great and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Always a friendly chatty welcome. Rooms are immaculate. Love the shower bombs in the bathroom, nice touch of luxury. The room service was excellent quality and very quick to arrive.

My husband and I stayed 3nights to celebrate our 30th anniversary.Catherine at the reception put us into an unprepared room but she pretended as if she did a good thing for us to make an a bit early check in when we said we could just leave our bags. Maintenance guys came in and apologized.Sam was very nice and I wished we should have gone to Sam at the reception. While talking to Sam, Catherine started the check in process with my husband.We learned when we checked out that we were supposed to be in the other room where a flight attendant that I saw went in instead of us. The room where we stayed was executive room but it was rather small.There was no welcoming message that I read on another reviews.Another thing was ridiculous. A young male staff refused to give us a tea towel by saying that they didn’t have it. We then asked for a tissue box and he refused to give it either. We later complained about this to the reception and this was acknowledged.One good thing was that the bath was good. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel. Executive room is also not big enough to be called as executive room. The service was terrible from the young male staff. Catherine at the reception was very mean but disguised it. Sam was very nice. Overall, it was very mixed service and should be like 4 star hotel rather than 5 star.

Lovely rooms and comfortable bedding. Restaurant and bar for breakfast and nightcap was lovely and fairly quick. Valet parking was a little expensive at $25 a day but worth it for the convenience.

Lovely, clean. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Nigel quickly got batteries for the remote in my room. The breakfast was scrumptious. Loved the chia pudding and fresh fruit smoothies. Ross was very helpful in directing me toward the airport so I could walk outside in the lovely weather before my flight. They’re very familiar with the USAP program.

Spacious bright room and bath, good mattress, but unfortunately poorly soundproofed... guest beside us had a phone call and we heard almost every word. Very attentive staff at the reception, many thanks, especially to Sam! :)

Had a great stay at Sudima Christchurch City - all the staff (and I mean all the staff we encountered!) were super lovely and really helpful in organising our room and car. The room was also big and comfortable, super great for the price, compared to other hotels we stayed at! Would definitely recommend.

Very impressed. Excellent service, restaurant was super, lovely ambience, great breakfasts. Staff were warm and friendly and couldn't do enough to make the stay memorable. Well done.

Sam’s a keeper at the front desk! He made our one night stay , celebrating my birthday and our anniversary memorable through our interactions and conversations with him. It felt like he was an old friend!The rooms were clean and comfortable. The Moss spa excellent , especially Ingrid who went beyond the treatment with her advice on my frozen shoulder. The restaurant/ bar top notch with satisfying breakfast .

But portion too little.Cons:Water pressure is pathetic, unacceptable for a 5-star hotelBathroom has no shower door to place towel/ clothesThe two wall hooks are also placed too close to each otherLow quality toilet tissueLuggage stand is too smallCorridor is darkAround 10-15 mins walk to City Center where most of the restaurants and shops are. Unpleasant to walk during winter.Unlikely to return due to its location and water pressure.
