The Suter Cafe
Such a beautiful location ruined it with the experience - when browsing counter food, rude front of house rushing to get you to the table, then no chance to study menu rushed to order. Bad choice the nourish bowl is half a plate of cold boiled veges. No description on blackboard only menu so no idea what it comes with except smoked salmon $28, was expecting a grain of some type, avo, nuts, kimchi what every other nourish bowl includes. Don’t recommend at all,

From the interior design perspective, they choose plywood structure frame, natural timber Celling, floor & table, this nautical style matches the big open views of Queens Garden perfectly, seen through all the huge Celling to floor windows.See how to use black here. One black wall of kitchen is good background Color to highlight all the displays.Black lamp covers and table legs here 2.Cool place to come and enjoy all.

Loved the attitude of the staff. They were so friendly.Sitting at the deck, reading my book, and enjoying great black coffee with amazing garden and pool views were priceless. Enjoyed their desert selections as well. Definitely recommend it.

Very nice coffee here. Cafe is accessable via The Queens Gardens or through the Suter Gallery entrance (this is the one to use if requiring wheelchair access).Tasty food and friendly staff. There are tables outside to enjoy the natural surroundings. Well worth stopping by when you're in the city

Good menu, great staff, awesome venue. Loved sitting outside in the fine weather overlooking the river and gardens. The Eggs Royale breakfast was delicious too :-D

Good quality cafe food in a beautiful location. There’s a effusive and charming woman who seems to run the place

Great coffee, good food and a very relaxing place to enjoy catching up with friends. The outlook on the Queen's Gardens is beautiful. And service is warm and friendly.

Would not go back. Despite there being a toy corner, which we chose to sit next to, it is NOT very kid-friendly. We have two little children, 3 & 1, who were sharing a scone (one in a high-chair)… and our children made a mess on the floor with the scone. A waitress came by and THREW a dustpan & brush down beside us (this very soon after we had arrived). It gave me such a fright as it hit the ground beside me, wondering what the noise was, and there as I turned around I see the dustpan next to me. I turned around to see where it came from and a staff member was walking away from us.Immediately it made us feel very unwelcome. Our meals had not even arrived yet!We often dine out with the children (and yes, they do tend to make a bit of a mess) but we have never received such an inhospitable reception from anywhere we have been with the kids. The owner then came up and said she had done enough cleaning for one day, and that can be dealt with after. I was still feeling quite shocked at the reception we got, I didn’t really know what to say back to her. We would have been happy to clean up the pieces of scone on the floor before we left, but to the THROW a dustpan on the floor beside us, BEFORE we had even received our meals was incredibly unwelcoming.

We went to this cafe twice during our 3 days Nelson trip.food quality is slightly better than average.service is even betterthe best part of cafe is the dinning environment. you can enjoy the small lake view of Queen's garden. very comfortable to enjoy cafe or meal outside of this cafe.
