Hihikiwi track hike to summit. 3 hours up and 3 hours down, hike was done in early march and trail was very dry but could see where it would be muddy after rain. From comments from other people who have gone up the other side i think hihikiwi would be the easiest hike to the summit, lots of varied sections up and down, no rock faces to scale or chains, mostly covered by treeline, the boardwalk from hihikiwi lookout to the hut is amazing!!! highly recommend this trail even if it takes a little while longer to drive to the start of this trail.

Awesome hike. There are three parts to this walk.1.Steps then,2. Roots and then,3. Rocks. We went on a wet day, and walked through clouds.A good friend said to follow the orange tags, not the pink tags. There is good parking and toilets at the base.

Stunning views and great new hut on top on the mountain. Be warned tracks will get very muddy in winter!

We walked up from O’Shea road to the viewpoint. The orange triangles were hard to find and lost them at some point. But perseverance and we made it. Took the mahaukura track down which seemed like a nice consistent decline. The chains at the top was amazing fun

Such an amazing tramp. Even though I went up on a horrible day in July (to the point where it was snowing at around 800m and above) the views were amazing. It's a very adventurous tramp, full of roots and points where you have to climb/abseil chains. Overall I highly recommend the walk, though only for more experienced/fit trampers. A must do if you're in the waikato region.

Awesome tracks, some stairs in the beginning and became rough when reaching the top, we had to walk carefully over the rocks. The temperature was between 10 to 13.c, comfortable for this level of activity. Not too many people at 10am. The view was clear from the Ruapane lookout, almost 360 degrees. Our little boy was 4 years old and did very well. We finished with a picnic in the designated area. Parking is easily found and located at the start of the trails. Worth trying the hardest ones in few years time.

Hiked the Bell track up to the hut and down to the Corcoran carpark. 10 hours of solid hell with the most beautiful view of the north island at every one of the 5 summits we hit.
